For several years my future plans were to live in a 55+ community. Not so much anymore. I don't know if it's just this area or one in particular (Sun City). Apparently, they are a breeding ground for STD's. Word has it grandma and grandpa like to swing. They let people know they are "open" by placing a pineapple (not fresh) on their stoop, in their living room, etc., or even a decal on their boat. Just, ICK! Now they are building a Margaritaville 55+ community nearby and from the looks of the commercials I can see it being the same way. Have you guys heard of such a thing?
I guess they think they are safe because they are older.

Well, they are the ones left from the 60's, right? I guess I should not be surprised. Yet, I am. But then I remember back to my grandfather, how he kept a condom in his wallet next to his viagra until he died at age 90. But at least he kept a condom.

Which he apparently didn't use since it was still there. :LMAO;:

Never could see what the attraction was for these communities. I think I would miss the kids yelling and running around, the middle aged going to and from work, etc. Old people only?? I think not....
Friends of mine have entered these communities and seem to like it. One of the couples (both retired military - Colonels) moved to a community somewhere in Texas (Fort Worth?) that has only retired military..... I wonder if rank still counts in these places. LOL
Another couple live in a senior community near Sacramento, but spend half their year traveling and showing antiques at shows around the country, so I guess they do not really "live" there. But they like it...
To each his own.
STD?? Why do people think they are the only ones who ever have sex? All ages participate in sex and I would guess the seniors think they have lived this long with no problem so they could not have any STD....
Usually, the benefit of these places is that they are built with the ease of seniors in mind. No stairs, big showers with handrails, etc. And some like having no youngsters around.
