DD and I went to Starbucks, then the waterfront park. First we saw a guy panhandle a few bucks from a nearby table at Starbucks. Then, when we got downtown we noticed two city police cars in the parking lot. As we walked along the river we could see several officers standing around up ahead. When we got close we could see what was happening. They were basically evicting a homeless person from the bench swings. He had set up residence. He was using three swings for his house. There were cushions and even electronics. He tapped into the electricity from the pavillion with a long extension cord. All his stuff filled a shopping cart past the top. Plus he had a cooler and a boom box that wouldn't fit, and a bike. He just moved everything and was sitting under the pavilion (it's huge and often used for concerts and weddings) there were some people talking to him and he was ranting.
This is a lovely waterfront park. There are bench swings all along the river for people to sit in and enjoy. I felt kind of bad for him but one can't just occupy a spot where the public wants to come and sit peacefully. He's been hanging around this park for a while. I'm not sure where he got so much stuff.
Off to a pool party soon at the neighbor's. Bringing cheesecake. Not sure it is considered a light desert (which I was asked to bring) but it was a compromise with DD since she and I both want cheesecake. I went to BJ's earlier to pick up a variety pack.
I would rather be walking the seaside.

It was awesome. We cut each slice into cheesecake bites. Best idea I've had in a long time. DD also got her first babysitting job. Neighbors we hadn't met yet are caring for their two granddaughters. One is 16 months and the other is 7. Baby had to go home for a nap and DD was asked to watch the 7YO and bring her home later. So that is what she is doing. The 7YO loves DD.
