Watching McCain's memorial. Fox is airing it live. I don't know if that applies to all Fox stations or just the local one. Not sure how that kind of stuff works. I was amazed that the other side of the freeway had stopped when his procession passed by. One of the announcers said that they hadn't shut the freeway, people just stopped. After his service at North Phoenix Baptist, I think they said he'll be flown to DC.
Oh. I have to say I'm getting a kick out of some of the comments. Watching on my phone via FB. One woman is whining about how Fox is showing McCain's funeral instead of local news. She posted the same whine multiple times. Um, hello? This is AZ. He was an AZ Senator. This IS local news.

I have FOX 5 on and it's airing live. I am not positive and would have to look it up, but I think traffic stopped for Reagan as well. Heck, traffic stopped a couple weeks ago out here when the 9/11 memorial ride came through on their way to the Pentagon. It's not that unusual.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I don't think I've ever seen traffic stop for funeral processions here unless the police are stopping it. Personally, I mute the radio and say a prayer for the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased.
Traffic stops, even moves to the side, in all directions.
And they stay that way until the last car with the little flag on it goes by, or the last car with their headlights on, passes.
If you can't tell who is last, you guess, usually around 20.
I have seen an entire route blocked and halted once in my life.
It was for my great grandfather.
There were a line of cars, not counting the hearse and family, a mile long.
It was incredible.

I hope tommorrow is better for you czech, didn't watch the memorial, A Facebook friend who lives in Phoenix tape the procession escorting John McCains Hearst down the freeway. Pretty impressive.
