Yep, stay safe everyone! This thing is massive. I was watching some satellite video of it and couldn't believe the size. Please don't ride it out if you're near it. Get out!
More dismal weather here in my neck of the world. UGH! I miss the sunshine.
I guess once it heads a little southwest it will get close to Charleston/Beaufort Saturday. There are some evacuees here at tybee already. I'm grateful I don't have to get on 95 to get home. I just hope the bridges don't close. They shut them down at 50 mph. I've got about 6 to go over.
From the projections, it's the water, rain and surge, that will be the biggest problem.
Feet of rain, not inches.
Up to 9 feet of surge.
Be careful SB.

Yesterday early morning #2 complained of upset stomach. Then diarrhea. Then vomited. I left him home while I took #1 to school. By the time I got home he said his "hip" hurt. I was on my way upstairs to put laundry on, thinking he had a stomach bug and didn't want it to spread to the rest of us, when I heard a voice telling me "appendix." I asked him to show me where it hurt. Yep, lower right quadrant. I am so glad I listened because I got him in and had it removed yesterday afternoon. It was inflamed and definitely appendicitis, but had not yet perforated.

Saw that on FB. Poor guy :( Hope he's back to himself soon.
Thanks. He is better. He wants to stay home another day to recover a little bit more. He can't shower until tomorrow so I suspect that is a big part of his desire to wait it out. I don't blame him.
We caught it early so that was good. Very good. He was scared, I was scared, but we got through it. We're back home now. I took him to school to have lunch with his bro. Neither of them could talk about the other without crying. #1's teacher, a twin herself, said it was a twin thing. There's an odd gravitational pull.

Wait. Having an organ removed doesn't even get you out of school the rest of the week? Poor kid.

Mean Mommy that FMW is! He should get ice cream for dinner. And wow, that was one quick event. So glad you realized it was appendix related before it burst.

He's not back to school. He visited his brother at school and his friends for lunch. He wants to go back Friday. The doctor says he could go back tomorrow but we're taking an extra day. He was just accepted into the AAP program and doesn't want to fall behind.
I gave him ice cream and pudding last night for dinner. LOL

SB please do not drive home. Take LL up on her offer. Your drive home means you will be driving through torrential down pours and flooding. Please be safe!

From the way they are talking on tv, the only ones that will be allowed to drive into the areas are rescue workers.
Of course, you being a nurse, may be allowed in.
Are you required to be at the hospital in situations like this?
