And if so, do you love it? I'm thinking about switching

I had Allstate back in the 70's, and hated
them! When our car was stolen, they
tried to foist off inferior vehicles with
none of our add-ons to placate us.

I finally had to take them to small claims
court to get full replacement value. We
dropped them like a hot potato.

I have State Farm. And love them. But, I will admit that’s been more about the agent than the company. Both here and in Indiana, I had great agents and support staff. Very caring and responsive. My agent in Indiana called me on my 25th birthday and wished me a happy birthday and congratulated me on my new lower rates lol

We did have Allstate for a long time.

But they kept going up and we finally switched to Travelers.

Better rates, better coverage, more perks.

I have travelers now and have for years. I've been thinking of switching because I don't like my current agent but checked out State Farm. Their rate was about $100 per year cheaper than travelers.

We had Allstate when we first got married. They weren't good.

We got rid of them.

Hm, I've never heard of travelers. I must live under a rock. Thanks for the tip Momala!

I currently have farmers, I've never had an issue they are just a little expensive. However, I got a quote from Allstate last night and they are more expensive! So nevermind. It just seemed like they had a lot of perks.

Vette, you work for a large company.  Are you sure there are no discounts because of that?  I have metlife and get a discount on my car and house insurance.

Geico?

I have State Farm and always have. I did call Geico for rates years ago and they told me to stick with State Farm. Said their rates were best for women in my area, they didn't know why. So I have a lot of respect for Geico for being straight up with me.

have never dealt with allstate--had state farm way back but had rather tepid service and expensive in the bargain

have been with liberty mutual for over twenty years now and can tell you the quality/level of their service/customer concern/performance surpasses the entire field of providers--there is perhaps only one company that can match them--usaa--though don't know it for a fact, have heard several times over the years that liberty mutual is the civilian arm of usaa--regardless, have been extremely satisfied with their service and always at a competitive price

You need to actually look at what the policy covers.  For example, around here, Allstate's policy excludes septic backup, which is not an option when you have a septic tank.

We have State Farm, and they are a bit more expensive, but they have paid for 3 roofs, my deer run-in with my car, and a entire burnt down house in the last 3 years without an issue.  I will never switch to cheaper insurance.
