And it's still raining.

The weird thing is, the leak has not leaked since I found it.

Of course we will try to find it, but with all the rain, we still can't.

It's one week to Thanksgiving.

Dreading the snow storm predicted for tonight.

I will work from home though and school will probably be cancelled.

Have a great day everyone.

Snow here. I'm working from home. Schools cancelled. We got less than inch. If DOT could ever figure out how to clear the roads we'd be in business.

Yay for the good news, Trudy!

Sunny and cold, but we should warm up to 60 today.

I think I'll go for my walk after I drop Cate off at 1.

That storm looks like a bad one.

Stay safe and warm, everyone!smile

I just bought Snoop Dogs cookbook for GG and my sister. Have you seen him cook with Martha Stewart? It is a riot.

Good morning! Happy for the good news Trudy, snowed here and am watching my grandsons and great nephew, little one is asleep right now. I hope the snow storm predicted for you all misses you all.

Got our painting done and since the earliest they can do my flooring is December 21st, we decided to wait till after Christmas, since I don’t want to put in all the work to put the tree up to just take it down again. Honestly I think it’s easier to just move instead of updating a home.

Have fun with the wee ones, Lindley!

We need to start updating. I'm dreading it, as well.

I'm sure you'll love it, in the end!smile

Perhaps some roads are  worse than others.

A lot of times its our mountain and back roads that cause schools to close.

Hi SB, FWM, & LINDLEY.

The local weather people can't figure out if it's going to freeze or warm up.

Tv says upper 60's tomorrow, the national weather service is issuing freeze warnings.

Why can't I have a green thumb? I really want to plant flowers next spring to attract honey bees but I know they will all die no matter what I do.

Sigh.

Trying to decide if I should work tomorrow. The money... But the time off... But the money...

Go to a good green house, or where ever you get your plants from, talk to them.

Start getting your soil ready now.

Good soil is as important as anything else.

You can do this.

As for over time or not, I say get that money.

If you can find it, pachysandra is a
wonderful ground cover, and very
very forgiving. A full flat should
cost about $12-15. Grows well in
shade or partial sun. The flowers
are small, not good for cutting or
show, but the butterflies and bees
love them.

Forsythia is a great spring shrub,
which you can trim to any shape you
prefer - long spikes or compact globe.
Once you get forsythia established,
you can take cuttings and get lots and
lots of new plants.

Both pachysandra and forsythia should
do well in your part of the country.

If I let my basil plants flower the bumble bees go nuts.

I've decided I'm putting fake flowers out next year.

Just shove a bunch in the ground.

DH loves getting those hanging flower baskets every summer which inevitably die very quickly and hang there dead.

I keep trying to talk him into getting fake hanging baskets but he just can't bring himself to do it.

I had an aunt who would use fake flowers in her flowerbeds.

Mixed in with real ones.

Fortunately I have no problems growing flowers. Hydrangeas, azaleas, rhododendrons, hostas, liriope, autumn joy, pachysandra, catmint, viburnum, roses, butterfly bushes, etc. The only thing that didn't bloom last year was my lilac. Weird. I think I should not have fertilized it. I also include evergreens of interest, such a blue spruce, golden sekai cryptomeria mixed in with the dark green ones, goldenrod cedars, etc. Creeping jenny provides a nice chartreuse ground cover, too. We don't plan annuals anymore since we had everything professional landscaped.
