Lily, You have go back to the day in your mind when you enjoyed sit coms and you had no political, religious or other opinion other than to enjoy the entertainment. That is all it was, entertainment. Please stop.
Please stop what?
When I was a child, I reasoned as a child.
Realizing something you used to watch is about something else is not wrong.
I mean, this happens with everything as we gain wisdom.

You know what, Lily? You are right. If you are incapable of watching a fictional show about witches without being influenced into worshiping Satan, you absolutely should not watch it.
Actually, that goes for all sin, since all sin is created equal in God's eyes. You are just going to have to give up most TV altogether.
And hey - you certainly shouldn't be watching Supernatural.

Supernatural is about two brothers always fighting to save the world.
At one point, season 5, one allowed Lucifer to enter his meat suit so he, Sam, could put Lucifer back in his cage.
Yes, there is spellwork, and there are the working with the unsavory to save others.
But in each and every one the working with demons is a last ditch effort, and it's not something that is seen as good.
With Sabrina, it was all about furthering the church of Satan for the purpose of black magic.

Ahhh, Supernatural portrays God as a deadbeat dad, and makes the character of Satan likeable. It also has the main characters in cahoots with the King of Hell on a regular basis, and their best friend is a fallen Angel that turned evil and tried to take over as God.
And the good guys do spells, etc., dabbling in witchcraft to fight the fight.
Now, I watch the show and I love it, but I'm not the one arguing that all fictional witch shows lead people to Satan.

What I am saying is the demographic original Sabrina is targeting is a younger group, who may not be able to understand the subtly in the show.
The new Sabrina is telling the exact same story the original told. Only this one isn't watered down.
The original she had to choose which path to follow, there was a ceremony when she chose to serve the devil.
The original is about a girl CHOOSING to serve Satan.
Just like the new one.
Now tell me, how is that, either one, ok and not trying to indoctrinate?
And Supernatural is geared more towards adults, and shows every deal they make, and every spell comes at a cost.
Yes, I watch Supernatural. Yes, I disagree with a lot of how they portray characters.

But, then again, you are an adult and can reason as an adult.

I don't watch shows about witches nor would I watch Harry potter no matter how innocent it seems. Satan comes as a angel of light and what seems fun and innocent can sometimes cause one to be curious to delve into more. I participated in a seance at a slumber party and it was one of the most terrifying experiences I ever done. No one ever told me the dark spiritual beings existed, (I just turned 12) I couldn't sleep for months and couldn't sleep without the door opened for a few years. Even now it can I can remember the feeling of terror.
Evil can look innocent and the Bible clearly says to stay away from the occult/spiritism.
The Bible says not to practice sorcery or consult mediums. Even reading the Bible, you are reading about them. Harry Potter, Sabrina, Bewitched, etc. are fictional and as long as you know they are fictional and are not taking them as teachings, then that is really not any different than watching any other television show or reading any other book that contains sin. You may as well give up all forms of fictional entertainment as just about anything today contains all sorts of sins - fornication, adultery, gluttony, lust, greed, pride, vanity, wrath, sloth, etc.

I love it and I don't feel guilty for it. It is a story - I certainly have no thought to it as being real.
This comes from a Catholic website and I agree with it -
Naturally, the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church reject all practice of divination and sorcery. The Harry Potter books are fictional works, which portray magical practices fictionally.
The potion recipes are never given in full, and the ingredients mentioned are things that don't really exist. The future cannot be predicted; the past cannot be changed. No one calls on a demon for their spells; they call out Latin sounding words. If anyone tries this at home, nothing happens, as one would expect.
The magic in Harry Potter is fictional, so the Bible and the Catechism wouldn't condemn it. Harry Potter is a story, a work of an author's imagination, a modern-day parable. It's just like how attending a child's magic show does not put one in danger of being involved in "real" sorcery.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (see Nos. 2116-17) talks about divination, and in Deuteronomy 18:9-12, going to fortune tellers and palm readers, among other things, is forbidden.
The Bible and the Catechism reject real sorcery, and forbid us from trying to call on demons, but again, that's not what Harry Potter is -- Harry Potter is a fictional story.

As I said, I really liked the new Sabrina. And the old one. I recognize they are fictional works and are purely for entertainment. I have no issues with it as far as my stability of faith. I also think it’s an adult show, no doubt about it.
A couple things to note, this show is based on a graphic novel series. It’s not Netflix that made the change in tone. Also, if you watch the series, Sabrina struggles with being a follower of Satan, and actually refuses to “sign her name” until it is necessary to save her town and all the people.
