Going Christmas shopping.

I pretty much know what I'm getting, it's just finding it.

The gifts will be comfort related.

Have a great day, ya'll.

I'm at work. Watched episode 2 of Dirty John last night. We get Wednesday off for Bush's funeral. Thinking of going.

Went to a friend's place for dinner last night. Their littlest is 5 and they are doing Elf on the Shelf. Not so much as a 'Santa Spy' but more as a fun game. They play hard!

Last night he took a power drill to cut a hole in the roof of the gingerbread house and stuck the elf in half way upside down with her legs in the air. It was hilariously fun. I enjoy that he needed a power tool to do it. Boys and their toys.

Lily, have fun shopping.

FNW, glad you can attend the funeral of a past president. That is awesome.

Tig, cute story!

I survived the adventure of traveling to my mom and sisters for our annual Christmas cookie baking event. We made 133.5 dozen cookies, 8 batches of peanut brittle, and 84 pieces of lefsa. I think they forgot to count a few items, like the stuff we made ahead of time.

I drove home on Saturday straight into a blizzard. Got 40 miles from home, my brakes froze up, I was blinded in the white out and kept praying I would make it to the next town. Scariest 21 miles of my life. I'm embarrassed to say, I caved and got a motel room 40 miles from home. The county sheriff closed that highway an hour after I arrived in that town.

Came home yesterday. I was the only idiot on the roads. Met five semi's traveling the other way. Four of them were within 2 miles of my home town. Yup, I'm nuts. Thick ice covered roads are a nightmare. Anyway, the cookies arrived home safely!

Today is an unwind day. No stress needed around here for awhile.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Actually, I would be going to the Rotunda, not the actual funeral. I believe it is for family & friends only.

Lefsa is similar to a potato pancake only much thinner. It has cream and sugar, enough flour to make the mashed potatoes into a ball, rolled paper thin, then cooked on a griddle set at 500 degrees. It cooks really fast so you have to flip it fast. It is so good with butter and sugar. Oh, and this is a Norwegian treat. We use the heritage rolling pin and lefsa stick to make the lefsa.

Making lefsa is almost a lost art. Unless your Norwegian of course. My mom is Norwegian. She and her mom passed on their skills to all of us girls. Lefsa is only one of the treats we make from original recipes. Krumkaker is another extremely thin rolled cookie that we make.

We sure had fun!

Lefsa is AH-maz-ing! Home ec teacher made them.

Glad you got home safe and sound, Czech.

I think you did right stopping and getting a room.

Shopping was nice.

And funny, too.

I guess it was my first run in with "people of walmart" in the wild.

3 women, related somehow, were literally, in the truist sense of the word, talking across the store.

"DID YOU FIND IT?"

"WHADIT LOOK LIKE?"

"YOU KNOW I AIN'T GONNA MEMBER THAT!"

Ran into them later...

"HOW YOU S'POSE THAT THANG WORKS?"

"HOW DO I KNOW?"

conversations all over.

I finally started joining in.

"BRENDA! YOU THINK THESE'LL FIT?"

"MAYBE!" I said.

Then came the "who was that" comments.

Anyway, it was fun.

Almost finish with my shopping.
