Happy birthday Conor! Get that knee checked out if it hurts more than a day or two.
Not working today, my Axel is getting neutered and having a hernia repair.
I'm going to the allergy doc later.
In between all that I'm going to do some overdue deep cleaning. So much for a day off.
Working from home today. Off the rest of the week. Giving a presentation at the local military base tomorrow to members of the professional society I volunteer for, must practice.

Happy Birthday, Conor! Take care of that knee, FWM. Get to the doc if it doesn't subside.
A chilly start to the day here. 26* with a high of 35*.
Since moving in to this apartment, periodically, maybe two or three times a month for one to three or four days, there is a pungent smell. Initially I thought it might be the electric baseboard but unfortunately the smell continued to occur even when the baseboards were turned off in summer. It's so bad that it's burning my eyes, nose and throat and when it's really bad, even the inside of my mouth and lips burn. Yesterday it was so bad, I had to leave a few times to clear myself up. I had a very hard time sleeping and finally did so under the blankets. I have no clue what this could be and why it's sporadic. But, I'm finally going to report it to management. I doubt they'll do anything since the Manager here seems to not give a damn about anything. I am currently looking for another apartment but pickings in my budget are definitely slim to none.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day!
Report to Management and call the FD. Doesn't sound safe.

I never thought of the FD. Hmmm good idea. Thanks! It really makes it hard to breathe. I'm beginning to think someone is cooking drugs or something.
Definitely call Management and let them know you are calling the FD. Tell them you can't wait for them to do something about it as it is affecting your health.

Good morning, Wishing you a speedy recovery fwm, that sounds painful, yes tell the manager about the smell and let him know you are calling the fire department. I Wish I set my dvr to record the funeral.
Wow, Sunshine! That's not okay. Next it happens, call the FD and tell them that there is a noxious odor that is causing burning to eyes, nose, lips and throat. They'll be there is a hot second. Don't wait until the BM shows up. You know that the smell won't be there when he/she shows up. Do it in the moment and get out of the apartment.

Thanks, Tig! I've notified Management but had to leave a message because he never picks up the phone and he's only on the property Mondays and Wednesday and that's debatable since no one ever sees him or can contact him.
The smell is still here but unfortunately I need to get to work now. I'll see how it is tomorrow. I work the early shift but should be home by 2. If it's still bad, I'll call the Fire Chief and explain it all to him. Thankfully, I've kept records of when the smell was happening over the last year since I moved in. What's happening now is definitely the worst and the longest.

FWM, Hope you didn't mess your knee up too bad. Happy birthday to Connor.
FS, it sounds like drugs, I agree. You've said something to the manager, he doesn't care. Next time, call the FD.
I did not watch the funeral today, Caitlyn has been here helping me finish the decorations.
I'll post some pics later.
It's cold, like about to snow, cold.
It smells like snow, too.
Hey everyone.

FS ~ Do you think it might be formaldahyde? That is frequently used in pre-fab homes and mobile homes, and in some paneling.
No, I'm familiar with how that smells, I think. What's puzzling is this just isn't consistent. It's not daily, it's not just when raining or only when sun is shining. It's hit and miss; one to three times a month and usually one to three days with each incident. But, this time it's been five days; much longer than "normal".
Of course, I've not heard back from Management, even though they're supposed to be onsite today until 4. It's just as bad tonight. I really think someone is cooking some drugs. I don't know what else it could be. But, there are no other signs of it being a meth lab or anything like that. However, one of the guys who lives at this end is a heavy drinker and probably smokes pot but this is definitely not a pot smell. I'll be sleeping under the covers again tonight. I may stop at the medical supply place and get a mask for when I'm home until the problem is solved. It's killing my throat. Very sore. UGH! Apartment living can be such a drag. lol It's a relief to go to work and be able to breathe normal.

No. If it is burning your throat and you can't sleep or breathe, you need to call the FD now. THis is toxic. You can't make anyone believe that it is not toxic if you need a mask. If it is just as bad and burning soft tissue, call. (besides, if it is a meth lab it could blow up at any moment. Better to catch it now!)

Yes, what Tig said!
