I had a thread not long ago about late doctors. Well now it's my dentist pissing me off. My last THREE appointments they have came me back AT LEAST twenty minutes late. Finally today was my last straw. I got there ten minutes early (my appointment was at 9), and by ten after I'm still in the waiting room. So this guy comes running in, sorry I'm late! And I kid you not they call him back right away while I'm still sitting there like a freaking idiot.
Needless to say I went to my appointment, and when it came time to reschedule I said I won't be coming back, and basically told her everything I just told you. She apologized profusely but I don't care. I'm so sick of the inconsiderate practices.
Am I just terribly unlucky or does everyone else experience this? And can anyone recommend a good dentist? :p

My dentist sold his practice. Well, the new one? Jeez I had a thousand things wrong, needed surgery. Yeah, I switched and the new dentist laughed when I told him. Paying for her new practice? Hahaha!
I hate dentists that want to do a whole bunch of stuff to make money off you. I had one of those, too, and said, "yeah, sure, I'll call you," then I ghosted them.
When I find a new practitioner I always look at the reviews. THat way I know what to expect. I won't go if the negative outweigh the positive.
That said, I was referred to a specialist lately and his reviews were pretty terrible but there was no option. I went in expecting to be traumatized. I didn't experience any of the things that were in the reviews.

Hope you wrote a good review for him.

When you find your new dentist, let
the office know WHY you are looking
to change. Your time is just as
valuable as theirs. Ten - fifteen
minutes past your appointment
time is okay, but longer than that,
without a good explanation from
the office, means they have time
management issues.

And I make sure the insurance knows why if I leave before seeing a doctor too.
I mean, if you can still be charged for missing an appointment, why should a doctor get paid if he misses the appointment?

It's annoying. However, finding a dentist isn't an easy matter. They seem to be all be in cohoots. I was having an issue years ago and wanted to see another dentist but they wouldn't take me because I had an active issues or they aren't taking new patients, etc. It was very hard to find a new doctor. And, I did but now the dentist i like has left the practice! ugh
Most dental care is pretty routine so seems like they should have a pretty good handle on scheduling times.

The doctor can't charge insurance if the appointment didn't happen, that would be fraud.
If you don't show, you are billed for the appointment.
It happens a lot with specialists.
I just want to make sure the insurance company knows why if I don't see the doctor so they can't charge.
Plus, if a doctor in network is not handling his/her job, they can be ousted from the network.

My dentist is very good about being on time. I have been taken back within 5 minutes of my scheduled time all but once. And that time they called and rescheduled because they had a patient with an emergency. I have been going to that office over three years now.
