I don't have to work today due to a light surgery schedule. Thinking I might go for a long walk on the trail before it rains. I bought new running shoes yesterday so now I feel obligated to exercise, lol.

Sitting in my office for the first time in 3 weeks. There are only a handful of people here and the parking lot nearly empty. I didn't realize that many people took this week off too. Gonna be a long day.

They are probably all stuck on 95 in South Carolina. It's been backed up for days. This happens every holiday. Most of 95 in SC is only two lanes in each direction. When you cross the state line from Ga it bottlenecks from 3 lanes to 2.

I have 5.5 PTO hours to use by next Friday. I may just use them today since it appears no one else is coming in to work.

I'm up.

Fitful night of strange dreams, sweating, freezing, and just bad sleep.

For some reason my neighbor is leaving her carport light on till the wee morning. That light, because of angles, shines right into my room. Even my thick curtains don't help.

Sitting here trying to decide if I want to go out for French toast or have a bowl of cereal.

IKWTDS, I say take off a little early this afternoon to beat the traffic, then take the rest of the time tomorrow after and book a massage or pedicure or something.

SB, enjoy your day off.

TRUDY, glad you dodged those snowflakes.

Happy Thursday!

I woke up to my phone blowing up with text messages.cry

My sister Trudy was letting us know that Lifeline had contacted her, to let her know our Mom had fallen.

She did manage to get herself up and answer the phone. She slipped on a bedroom throw rug, but thankfully she didn't break any bones.

Trudy told her to 86 the throw rugs. And called her neighbor Barb, to have her check on her later.

Oy, that could have been bad. We got lucky.

Cold and raining here.

Stay warm and dry, everyone.

Not much traffic this week, still Holiday type traffic.  But looking at my schedule for next week I realized I would not be able to use the time so here I am at home.  Oh! and my new LL Bean winter boots were delivered!  Leather, and only $33, clearance sale!  They are lovely.

:( All my after-christmas-affordable online purchases came yesterday. Everything is too big By at least 2 sizes. The reviews said everything was 'true to size' but medium is so big I think I need to exchange for extra small. There is no way that I am an extra small. Luckily I have a shorter day today so I can do that before I have to go without everything for too long (stuff I need for winter).

I got to sleep in this morning. I think that it is because the dog can hear the rain outside and is refusing to walk. I'm giving him 10 more minutes before I try again but I have to get on with my day. If we run out of time he won't get out till I get home from work, which will be another 8hrs on top of his refusal to go last night.

Shopping this time of year is awesome. Didn't need a pair but regular price is $200 so how could I pass it up?

DS is 44 pounds and 44 inches tall. Vision and hearing are perfect. He blew a fuse over getting a flu shot then declared 'that wasn't a shot' when the nurse gave it to him.

They always do on the shots.  The thought of a shot is scarier than the shot itself. Silly kids.

That was exactly him yesterday. Usually, he's just fine. He just wasn't having it yesterday.

Yep, the Extreme Libs still don't get why Trump was elected.  The newer dems do not want her.  TRUMP 2020!

Yes, it could have been tragic.

Mawmaw died 36 hours later due to complications.

Sorry. It's still raw.

Pelosi and Keith Richards look an awful lot alike these days.

Finally back from town.

Couldn't find anything for dad for his birthday tomorrow. Guess he'll get lottery tickets.

What is up with the lack of Pringles? Could not find the original anywhere. Sold out everywhere. I rarely get them cause they actually mess my mouth up they are so salty, but dang, when you can't find them, that's when you want them.

Oh! And my grocery store is moving everything around! Thankfully, I don't get much from the aisles, but what a mess it was!

So, I've washed dishes that gathered over night, took off the trash, searched the entire store of walmart for a birthday gift, I did score four rolls of Christmas wrapping paper for a $1, bought groceries, got them put up, washed dishes that appeared while I was gone, separated my meats into smaller portions, and cleaned the kitchen.

I'm about to take mom to her rehab, then coming home to make dinner.

I'm tired.

I'm sure it is, Lily. I feel for you. I know how much you miss her.

My Mom got lucky. She just has a bruise on her left cheek. (Not the cheek on her face, if you catch my drift.wink)

She insists on living alone, so I'm happy she has the Lifeline, just in case.

I really hope she got rid of the throw rugs in her bedroom.

The older she gets, the more I worry.cry

Yeah those throw rugs are nice but a trip hazzard. I am down to one last room (mine) to install HW's. I have the flooring and once my bath reno is complete will finish the room with the flooring. So excited. After 12 years this broken down house is nearly done! Phew!

FWM, how scary for all of you! So glad your mom is okay!

Update on Miss Bethany. Her hemoglobin is at 7.3 (suppose to be 10, at 7 they give you the blood), which is still really low, but they released her from the hospital at 3:20 this afternoon! Yay! But we are scared to death. She can not endure another bleed. If she bleeds again, we have to rush her to a hospital that can give her blood immediately. She is scheduled for another Hemoglobin test on Monday. She had a nose bleed yesterday and it dropped her number .2. A simple nose bleed is dangerous for her.

That was the good news.

The bad news: I got rear ended this afternoon. Boo!!!

Can we have a do over for the New Year?

Oh, and the hospital she was at does not accept direct blood donations. I was disappointed.

Oh no about the year ending! And the blood donation! But doesn't mean we all shouldn't give blood.

So interesting development on my town's FB page. I posted about all the clothes I have to donate. It turned into a NICU donation post. So I created a NICU knitting page. OMG the response is incredible! So many mom's that had NICU babies and remembering the hats and such made for their babies and wanting to give back. What have I gotten myself into?

You, my dear, are going to have a hell of a good time. smile

My mom used to donate 50 knit baby hats every Christmas. They were always appreciated.

I think it is awesome that you are doing this!

Does she like red meat, leafy greens, and beans? Raisins have iron and can help build up those red blood cells.

Cooking her food in cast iron will help, too.

Caitlyn was this close to being a Bethany.

She is in my prayers.

Rear ended, huh? Did it do much damage?

 I'm glad it's just a bruise.

If she doesn't want to get rid of the throw rugs, put velcro (one side stuck to the rug, the other to the floor) or non-skid pads on the back of them.
