The internet was all a buzz over their performance at the Oscar's....I didn't particularly think it was all that "cozy" and they were playing the roles they played in the movie, IMO. More fake news.
I know people like her, and she does have a good voice, but I don't like her.
There is something off-putting about her to me.
But, she has a point about social media.

She also has some cool political views. Her voice is interesting - I can never decide how I feel about her, but she does wonders for kids/teens/twenties who feel marginalized.

They were putting on a performance. It's a romantic song. There was nothing really over the top about that.
Spectrum News did a live broadcast from
our community building "Faith and Firepower"
Friday evening. It worked to show two points
of view. A) It is not wrong to have armed
(trained) parishioners in the congregation, to
respond to armed intruders, and B) A
congregation must strive to be inclusive of all
people who come through the doors of a place
of worship, and use interaction with the intruder
to prevent bloodshed.
One of the audience members was a former
(there is NO SUCH THING as former) Marine who
was amazingly well spoken. From his remarks, I
gathered he had had extensive postings, teaching
immediate response to active shooter situations.
I totally agreed with his stance: Violence is never
solved with violence. DEFENSE is NOT violence.
Among the panel members was a young lady from
Santa Fe, who brought a young perspective of what
a survivor goes through.
Spectrum handled the entire time (3 segments)
with tact and intelligence. Cudos to them !
(P.S. - the food they provided for the community
leaders before the broadcast was fabulous! And
it was provided by a local caterer ! )
