Just sitting at the kitchen table minding my own business this morning (Wed) after being exhausted by watching repeat after repeat of the Emperor abdicating yesterday and the new Emperor giving his greetings today. Looked out the window and saw a black and white cat that has been missing for a couple of weeks. Opened the window to ask what she had been up to, got a meow for a reply and she went around the corner of the house. A few seconds later she appeared with six - count'em 6 - little kittens; 4 colored just like her and 2 black and white so I have a good idea who the dad is. I prepared something that little kittens can eat and mom watched alertly as they ate and fell over each other, etc. They are not too good with jumping, etc. yet. Then they all took off for somewhere. Have not seen the kittens since but mom came for some food at noon. Wow. 6... This is in addition to 2 "regulars" who come by...... Did not have enough brains to run for the camera but if I get a chance will take a picture and post it.... I guess she was just bringing them by to introduce them....
I had a cat growing up who would disappear for months and come back to give birth in her box on the back patio. We always found a home for the kittens but she would disappear again before it was safe to get her fixed. So year after year we'd sit and watch her in labor...

My cat cinder? Everyone waited for him. He would kill anything in a neighbors garden. I rang her doorbell and asked if he was a problem. She said no! He suns himself on the rocks, talks and kills! I enjoy him! It was funny.
I still miss Ms. Pepper, who I had for
24 years. I'm working on DH to
adopt another. We have one outdoor
cat that adopted me 10 years ago,
who has never left the property. I
think she said "Tag! You're mine!"
when she was looking for a new
home.
There are three cats that live in the rough between the houses on my street, and the street behind me.
They do a really good job of keeping the rodents down.
They'll even come up to you for a rub now and then, one had kittens, and she brought them out and let me hold them, but then she took them back.

I wish we had cats in the 'hood. Saw my first chipmunk of the season this morning. Pesky varmint!
Give the boys a BB gun. Problem solved!
There's an idea.
