And I am having the most painful ovulation ever!  Like being stabbed from the inside.  Or a charlie horse or something.

I hope you feel better soon, Tig. I never suffered with that, so I guess I lucked out.

I hope you feel better too, Trudy.

Happy birthday to your grandson, Lindley!

Hi IKWTDS...and all the Geeks!

I've had a busy morning. I took a walk. Went to the bank. Stopped by Kroger to pick up a Home Depot gift card. Went to Home Depot and got 15 bags of mulch and a few other things. Came home and spread the 15 bags of mulch. I'm a sweaty mess. Cate is here playing. Mere is watching her, so I can hit the shower.

I need a nap!wink

Beat the rain, Trudy!

I got my shower. Gave Cate her lunch. Took her home, and ran to the liquor store for a couple of things. Then, I went back to Kroger to snag a couple of frozen pizzas for dinner. (Paula has no energy left to cook. California Pizza Kitchen it is!wink)

Now, I'm going to see if I can mount a piece of kinetic yard art on a fence post. If I'm successful, I may post a picture later.

Wish me luck!biggrin

Yesterday ping-ponged from good to ok to dumpster fire and back to good. Oy. I'm still tired from yesterday. Could've done without dealing with dumb, dumber, and dumbest getting onto the freeway last night. Dumb cut me off then brake checked me just to sit at the red light first. Dumber and dumbest both cut me off just so they could race each other down the frontage road. Idjits!

Gotta start packing and printing stuff for Vegas after picking up DS from school this afternoon. The rest of the week promises to be busy so need to work on Vegas stuff as time permits so Saturday night is relaxing. Saturday day through evening is already booked solid. Our friend has an adventure day planned for DS for a graduation present. DS is going to love what he has planned. Then DH, friend, and I are hanging for the rest of the evening.

Checked out another school...not really impressed. Good school, but not a good fit for the boys.

How long did they have to go for weekly injections?  What if you were away for a period of time and missed an injection?  Was it effective?  Did you take them for three years?  Is that monthly?  Worth it?

DH went to AT&T to have his phone
fixed. Any time I called him, he would
get my last voice mail, instead of a
ring! Weird.

Anyway, while the phone guru was
taking care of the problem, DH saw an
ad for Directv at about half the price
we've been paying. (AT&T just took
over Directv.) He asked the guru
about it, and sure enough, we are
eligible for the new plan! We will
be without Directv for 24 hours,
but then we will be paying a little
less than half of what we were!
You go, DH!

We also switched garbage pick-up
companies, and are now paying
one third of our former price. We
had no complaints with the former
company, but they were pricing
themselves out of all reason. On
our last day of pick-up with the
old company, I went out to meet
the guys who have been taking
care of our route for the last two
years, and gave them our name
and address, so if they ever need
a reference, we'll be happy to give
it for them. They were super nice
guys, and always made sure there
were never any spills around our
cans.

It started out weekly.  If you miss then it sets you back because they have to repeat the last dosage.  After about a year, maybe less depending on how on schedule you are, it decreases to every other week then every 3-4 weeks.    It has made #1 allergy free.  He used to end up in the ER if we stayed in a hotel that wasn't deemed a "pure room".  (There are certain standards it has to meet to qualify for this standard).  Now he has no problems.  Pollen doesn't even seem to bother him.  #2 still is bothered by pollen a little but zyrtec helps with that.  The boys went for a total of 4 1/2 years.  His allergist kept him on "maintenance" shots for a year or two longer than most.  Her opinion was that the longer they are on maintenance, the less chance they would need to do it again.  Apparently, some have to have them again later in life.  I know my cousin went through it as a kid but has had to repeat.  But that's because his wife insists on having an indoor cat, the very thing that he is allergic to.  Selfish if you ask me, but that's another story...

You could shorten the time by increasing the frequency.  Rather than once a week, you could go twice.  I think there needs to be 3 days between shots.  Once you receive a shot, you must remain in the doctor's office for 30 minutes so they can check for reactions.  If the reaction is too great, they may need to adjust or repeat.  Not really sure because the boys never had too much of a reaction...just a little swelling at the injection site.  They measure the lump with a ruler and keep notes.

The boys finished their course of treatment last Fall.  So far, we've been pretty happy.  Happy it's over, and happy they are healthier.

Another tip I have is to try to find a swimming pool you can use.  It really helps washing away the allergens and clearing out the nasals.  Washing hair and showering before bedtime, too, so you're not sleeping with it all.   Buying allergen bed casings has been great for my #1.  Just don't forget to wash them every few months.
