I need to get fasting bloodwork today. It's the only time I can do it since I usually start work at 6 am. I thought the place opened at 8. Nooooo! 9 am on Saturdays! Grrr! So now I'm doing my stuff out of the order I mapped out. Hurts my OCD.

The closest fasting blood draw place to my house is lined up around the parking lot in the mornings. Luckily there is a starbucks right nextdoor, so breakfast and coffee are only steps away!
My friend and I are going to do some canning when I see her in July. I've never canned, but she's become an expert. But, just because I need to be confused about something at all times, I asked her what the difference between 'preserves' and 'conserves' are. Her cookbook has two sections, but it doesn't say why there is a difference. When I look it up I get 'one is canning and the other is vast wilderness' or some such.
I don't know. She says she has an awesome recipe for Black Forest Cherry something-or-other, as well as a peach 'conserve'. We're going to be in the Okanagan valley, which is the fruit hotbed of our entire country, so we'll hit some farmers markets and see what looks good.
Preserve: any preparation of fruit for long-term storage. ... Conserve: made of whole fruit cooked in sugar water. Has chunks of fruit in a gelled "background". Jam: also made of whole fruit cooked in sugar water, but cooked long enough that the fruit pieces are soft enough to spread.

Going to take DD to see Rocketman soon. It's a beautiful day but I think we maxed out the outdoor activity in this nice weather; gardening, walks, socializing with the 'hood.

Then I've got mom and dad's end to do.

Sooo...been absent, but for a good reason. The last 8 weeks, we have had at least one of the grands, sometimes 3 or 4. Some of them are more tolerable than others, but we do it. One screams... literally screams constantly. Nope...
