9 American tourists have died in the last few weeks while on vacation in the Dominican Republic.
Can't help but think something is up.

Was watching the evening news, the reporter says "and so far there are no connections to any of the deceased." I'm thinking oh yes there are! They are all Americans!

And the Senior HS students! At least no one died there. But certainly that resort has a rogue employee. All being Americans could just be a coincidence. punta cana resorts were great and popular. But we don't know if other countries have experienced issues with their people going to that resort. News is still coming out.

I haven't heard that tig, I hope that is no longer happening. I hope the Dominican Republic finds out who or what is causing all these deaths and arrest / solve the problem. This is going to hurt their economy big time.

Lily many incidences not just that one couple. Yeah it will be cheap to travel to DR, no way in heck I will ever go back there. It's a **** hole of a place.

The Dominican Republic health ministry said it is fake news to undermine their tourist industry and the deaths were of natural causes.
He has been warned that if DR doesn't come clean on the autopsies quick and investigate they will lose a ton of tourist dollars. In the wake of the Natalie Holloway killing in Aruba tourism went down 10%. The DR issue is much worse.

I agree. DR would be wise to request US medical examiners conduct the autopsies.
I agree, they also need to crack down on the violence against tourist, a young couple was carjacked, robbed, rape and murdered, another tourist was almost beaten to death and left for dead at a 5 star resort.
They said something about bootleg liquor being in the mini bars, that it might have been somewhat tainted. They've also just added a Canadian case - a DR tourist who died suddenly on vacation before the current ones hit the media. It happened first, so there was nothing to link it to until now.
Today on the radio I heard about a tour group that went there a few months ago and about 40 people got very very sick. Their hotel claims they got sick elsewhere in the DR. Some of the people said they still aren't 100% better.
