The icky, sticky is back.

The temp is only 79, but the humidity makes the "real feel" 92. And our high today is 91.

Oh well. The worst will be over in a few weeks.

Happy Thursday.

I took the dog for a walk around the block and came home with 8 mosquito bites.

I just got a mosquito bite ON THE FACE while sitting on the freaking bus!

I thought I had built up an immunity after a summer at camp where I got destroyed and my face looked like I had giant growths.  Haven't had much of a problem since, but the mosquitos appear to have mutated.

I'm feeling a little like this guy. Technically I love my job but I am finding more and more examples of ethics breaches and unprofessionalism from the company that I contract my services to. Sadly, they pay well. I've been acting like I'm okay with it because I need to pay rent and stuff, but now thinking that it might be time to start slowly slipping out. I don't want to be associated with things like that if they go wrong or get caught.  I'm sitting on the fence right now wondering if what I'm seeing and experiencing qualify for reporting to the regulatory body.

There are no non-compete clauses in my contract (perhaps an oversight on their part but good for me). There is a 'no stealing clients' clause, but it's an unethical clause that will not hold up in court if they tried to take action. Many overseeing businesses have this clause, but it conflicts with the client's right to autonomy.

Just keep above the ethical bar and you will be untouchable.  In the meantime, look for new gigs.

Thank you. I am. I'm sitting 2 offers and also considering just heading out on my own. It feels really risky though. I hate being financially uncertain. Then again, than 'no seeing clients' clause that isn't enforceable can also be gotten around by saying "it's my contracted responsibility to tell you that you will be referred to another clinician here and I can't take you with me. However, it is also the right of the client to see whoever they want to see and google is there for a reason'"

It is a tough decision to go out on your own. but can be very lucrative. Nose to the girndstone
