It shouldn't, that would be discrimination. Not in any of the hotels I've worked in has there been a surcharge, upcharge or higher rate for an accessible room.

I'm going to keep looking.

I did love the cabins.

Anything accessible costs more, too.

how does the accessible cost more?  Is that due to older Inns or such being grandfathered in?

Lily - email tina@themouseforless.com

Tell her what you are looking for and your budget. She'll know all the deals, and be able to do the work for you. Tell her I sent you and I get a gift card when you book your trip!

Generally, unless it is the newer resorts, you get less in your room.

And there are only a few accessible rooms, it's supply and demand.

No, it's booked vs not booked. There is no price difference between that and other similar rooms. Rates will fluctuate based on supply and demand, but not suites of the same size if one is accessible and one is not.

I'm not going to argue with you.

I have booked rooms, I know that a room labeled accessible will cost more in the end. Period.

Hmm. Sounds like a discrimination suit is in order. Make sure you do it at the one you like - you'll stay free forever!

Maybe she just wants to go and have fun without being offended about everything.  Sheesh.

Due to DS, we have had to stayed in handicapped accessible rooms for years. Disney was one of the best! They provided us two adjoining rooms for the price of one room. The handicapped accessible room only has a kingsize bed in it, the adjoining room had two double beds.

We travel a lot and we've never had an upcharge for being in a handicapped accessible room.

We got put in an accessible room one time because it was the last room available. It was fabulous! My guilt levels won't let me book one on purpose, but I loved the extra space.

I guess if one is not a big fan of amusement parks and such it is hard to justify the cost.

My trip to Ireland cost a lot with airfare and food and a few night hotel. I my Bro hadn't rented out the entire castle and paid for it, the cost would have been so much more but worth it, since that is my kind of vaca.

For next year I want to plan a great vaca going either to the Grand Canyon or a really nice resort on an Island I've never been. Paying $2K if including airfare I would consider a great deal.

We are going to Scotland & England Sept 23 - Oct 4.  Airfare, hotels (4 star), car rental, and everything is costing us $3200.00.  We went to Ireland a couple of years ago for a week, and all of that was $2200.00.

There are deals, you just have to know where to look for them...

Well we couldn't do a package deal since we had to go to the castle for a bit.

When we are in England, we are spending 3 nights with a friend.  So the hotel room in London won't be used those three nights.  It is still cheaper this way.

Due to time constraints we couldn't go to either.  Clam Shack had a line around the corner!  We went to the place right next to the docks and the name is escaping me at the moment..it was good though!
