Alyssa Milano, 46, revealed in the latest episode of her podcast this week that she made the “devastating” decision to have two abortions while in a serious relationship in 1993.
Milano, who was in her early 20s and had just finished working on "Who's the Boss?" at the time, said she knew she wasn't ready to be a mother, according to People.
"I chose. It was my choice,” she said on “Alyssa Milano: Sorry Not Sorry.” “And it was absolutely the right choice for me.”
Milano said she was using birth control both times she found out she was pregnant.
“It was not an easy choice,” continued Milano, who is a vocal pro-choice advocate. “It was not something I wanted, but it was something that I needed, like most health care is.”
“It was devastating,” she admitted. “I was raised Catholic and was suddenly put in conflict with my faith. A faith I was coming to realize empowered only men to make every single decision about what was allowed and what was not allowed.”
She said she found out she was pregnant for a second time just months after her first abortion.
“I had done what I knew to do to prevent pregnancy and was still pregnant, so once again I made the right decision to end that pregnancy,” she said.
Milano said she looks back on the decision without regret.
“I would not have my children [Elizabeth, 4, and son Milo, 7] — my beautiful, perfect, loving, kind and inquisitive children who have a mother who was so very, very ready for them,” she said. “I would not have my career. I would not have the ability or platform I use to fight against oppression with all my heart. I would never have met my amazing husband, David, whose steadfast and immeasurable love for me sustains me through these terrifying times," according to People.
Like she couldn't figure out how not to get pregnant the second time? And, she also robbed her children of their siblings.
I mean, seriously, acting like a baby is the END OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE is so bizarre. Would it have been harder with children? Yes. So what? Maybe have turned out even better to have had those 2 additional children in her selfish life.
I had done what I knew to do to prevent pregnancy and was still pregnant, so once again I made the right decision to end that pregnancy,” she said.
Did she quit having sex? Then she really didn’t know how to prevent a pregnancy. I wonder if her baby felt like she was making the right decision as it was being sucked from her body.💔 😢
I gave up my career dreams when I found out I was pregnant. In return, I discovered a life that was better than I could have ever dreamed.
My husband called it, he said that he bet she had a abortion or more and now is trying to justify it. She sacrificed two of her children for her career. Having babies doesn’t ruin your life, it changes your direction sometimes but always enriches it. My word they act like a pregnancy is just something they caught with no fault of their own (not talking about those who were raped). Someone should explain that sex causes babies.
I know, she called nick nolte a washed up has been and he played in several well known movies and won I believe at least one award and now is semi retired and she had only been in maybe two sitcom. I didn’t even know she was still acting until she thought she could take on Ga.
She was a child star who grew up to be too big for her britches liberal activist. She says really stupid stuff. It's too bad. I liked her in Who's the Boss and Charmed. She was also a popular singer in Japan.
However, I don't believe she was using birth control properly if she ended up pregnant twice in a year. I mean, after the first time - you'd realize what you were doing didn't work, wouldn't you?

She is most likely feeling guilty deep down and is now trying to justify her choices to kill her babies. I believe that's why alot of them are so foaming at the mouth to justify it because they deep down know that they killed their baby. It's against a woman's nature to harm their child, we are geared to nurture, protect and sacrifice for our young and those we love. I feel like deep down she is tortured.
I just can't imagine that she wouldn't have guilt. I'm with Lindley. She might be talking about the 'benefits' she's reaped since, but how can you make that choice and not have any sort of guilt or regret??
I’ve known women who lost their babies, even some who had to terminate because they were in a health crisis. They definitely went threw a grieving period, it’s not natural to blow something like off, a lot of women who are in the pro life movement has had a abortion believe it or not. They talked about their experience and the grief they had to deal with.
Milano may be heartless, but she maybe deep down regrets it and trying to justify it. I’m not excusing her, I worry about the scared young girls who will be influenced by her.
I agree - it sounds like an argument that is "I did nooooot!!!" whiny. Defensive. I'm fully pro-choice, but I couldn't imagine making that choice myself. I don't want children, but I would fully have and love that one.
There was a poster on another board that was thrilled to talk about having an abortion.
Another who openly admitted she wished she had.
To actively seek out the ability to murder a healthy baby is beyond my comprehension.

I’m sympathetic to those who made those choices under duress or difficult circumstance, but how can someone wish they had aborted their child who has been born?!!!
