Know what happens when you go to sleep before 8pm?
You wake up at midnight, 3, and 4 am.
Oh well.
Happy Monday.

I find dermatologists are in high demand. I go annually and make the following years appointment as I am leaving the current appointment. Also if you go annually chances IG getting a more urgent appointment increases. Sign of the times I suppose.

Lol, I go to sleep before eight every night and sleep like a log. Of course I'm up at 3am for work.
We got a sob story email from DH's ex wife last night. In a nutshell, she can't afford to take care of their son because she got a new job that ONLY makes 50,000 a year. ONLY. She only has one child to take care of, and only for half the time because they have split custody! PLUS her house is paid for courtesy of his 401k which she got all of when they divorced.
I mean seriously, cry me a river. She must be angling for more child support. (oh yeah, that's another source of income she has).
Thanks for letting me vent.

In my area $50K would be a struggle to live on. However, if it's more than she was making, time to drag her back into court for a re-evaluation of support.
I wouldn't have guessed that dermatologists are in such high demand? Interesting
We only have 3-4 in our whole province (the size of 3 states), so the wait list is a disaster. There are a few private ones, but that's out of reach for me (I've been on a waitlist 6 months. I will never see a dermatologist unless I pay).
I live on a similar amount and I take care of her child about as much as she does, plus I share the mortgage. I buy all his groceries, his school clothes, plus I split the sports costs with his dad.
Just putting it in perspective how it is possible to live on 50,000.
Anyway. I feel better I just had to get it out there.

My insurance covers the dermatologist. I just have to pay a co-pay, which is $75 for a specialist.

This confuses me. YOU are paying to raise her child, or you and your husband?

My dad just told me that his dermatologist is retiring. 1 down, 2 to go.

My insurance would make it free, but there is nobody to go to, so it doesn't matter. An assessment by a private guy is $80 per 20m. To have some moles removed (cosmetic - I hate them) is $300+ per.
Here, you call, and can usually get an appointment in a week or less.
It may cost a little more, but not having to wait is a huge advantage to not having social healthcare.

I pay a lot out of my own pocket such as groceries as stated. Plus I'm usually the one to buy him "fun" stuff like his fitbit that he just got

If you mean in GA by "here" ok that is great. But here it takes 3+ months to get an appointment especially if you are not a regular patient. Because I tend to have issues I always book the annual. Good thing is my new GYN and PCP both use my Derm as theirs' so if an issue comes up the collaborate.

I think the more the government keeps messing with healthcare, the less doctors we are going to have. I know of a lot of doctors that just flat out retired when Obamacare went into effect - they didn't want to bother dealing with the whole mess.
Not to mention the ridiculous levels of student loans that doctors end up with because tuition rates have gotten ridiculous.

Let me tell you the stress of handing them my new insurance! I had to sign a form that if the insurance doesn't pay, I will. I thought it was just me. No everyone that walked in? Same yelling tirade. I was like WTF?
