hadn't heard of that movie. Must go search for it.
Great day here. Not much I have to do but I do need to get a power walk in. My BP is at the upper range of acceptable and I no it's mostly due to lack of exercise. Need to correct that.

I saw the original. Not sure why it was thought to be scary. But I love Tim Curry, so that's why I saw it.
Went to church this morning. It was a good service.
Now I'm home messing around online.
It's too hot to do anything outside, so here I am.
Thinking I'll make something yummy and binge the rest of The 100.
Or nap. Maybe both.

Not gonna lie, had me a Waltons mountain size crush on all of them.

I've been to Walton's Mountain in Virginia. Toured the old schoolhouse where they have memorabilia from the show and the Emmy that Michael Learned donated. The original house was there, too, and the youngest owned it. It's tiny. Hard to believe it housed all those kids. The tour guide said if I drove up the dirt road about a mile, stopped the car, honked twice someone would come out and sell me moonshine (Papa's recipe). I wanted to try it but the people I was with chickened out. Gosh this was years ago when I first left California.
DS has been selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance for the Patriot's Day ceremony at his school on Wednesday! I've had the biggest grin on my face since receiving the email :D

You should've done it anyway.
I've never been, but I want to go.
People have visions and daydreams of the family and life they want, the Walton's was mine.
A house full of kids, a husband that worked hard and looked at me like John looked at Olivia, and that simple life.

The book was terrifying, I still have nightmares. I would love to see the movie but DH doesn't "do" scary movies. Which is fine, the book is always better anyway.
Wish me luck I am playing my second warhammer game tomorrow against another female and the first game she kicked my butt!

Was it a bad day?
Or was it a bad five minutes that you milked all day?
Typhoon 15 passed over us during the night (Sun/Mon) with lots of strong winds and heavy rain. Part of the electrical system in our house decided to go out at 0400 in the morning (nothing to do with the typhoon as it turns out) so no air conditioning, washer/dryer, or light above the lavatory. According to our electrician (that is why I am so glad we always use the same guy and buy any appliances from him, even though it is a little higher) who came right over, this is a job for the Electric Company and he called them, explained the problem and they said they would be out as soon as possible but there are a lot of electrical outages due to the storm. So we are re-living summer 60 years ago with no air... Not so much fun, but we will live through it. Maybe a good lesson now and then to do without. Maybe we are a little spoiled. LOL
Electric company came in 4 hours, decided the problem was in the wire from the pole in the street to our house. Replaced it, everything works like a charm. No charge......
Vette, go to the movie without your husband. Go with a friend.
Karl, glad you have power again, and, yes, we do need to be reminded how blessed we are from time to time.

Then go by yourself. Then you don't have to share your popcorn!
