Good morning.

We are under a heat advisory this week. Heat indexes in the 100s. The only redeeming thing was the lack of humidity. Well that's over. Humidity is supposed to start building again, reaching 60 and 70% by tomorrow.

Have good day.

Happy Tuesday.

 Same here.

At some point next week I have to go to my office and pack it up for the movers. They are moving us to a new building which is much closer to my house

Haven't been to current office in months since it's a nightmare to get to it. The new one I will, or plan, to go in once a week.

Well. Phooey. DS came home from school sick today. He won't get to lead the flag ceremony tomorrow since he has to be fever-free for 24 hours before he can return to school. DH and I were so excited for him to lead the flag ceremony tomorrow but his health comes first.

I saw that.  So disappointing for DS. Can you ask the school to allow him to do that another time.  That is very important to kids.

Already did. They said they'll arrange something for another day. I'll also have to email his teacher for a make-up time for his poem recitation. That was supposed to be tomorrow too.

This ear infection is really knocking him down. Took his temp a few minutes ago - 103. Sheesh! He says his whole body hurts. Can't say I blame him. He hates taking medicine but oh well! down the hatch it goes!

Sorry that he is feeling poorly but great the school will re schedule.  Probably the only thing DS is disappointed in.

Aww, that's a bummer!  That is probably disappointing for him.  Hopefully he will have other opportunities.

Sorry he's sick. Seems par for the course during the school year.

Good they can work with him.

We finally got some rain! It's been raining for almost 4 hours.
But it's still hot.

First thing he said after coughing on me when I picked him up was "what about my poem?" We'll take care of it, son. I'm glad he cares about school. Hopefully the antibiotics will work their magic and he can go back Thursday.

If I can't get the fever to break, absolutely.

Not sure about Canada but all the hospital does here is dose him with Tylenol and wait a half hour. I don't know what they do past that half hour mark since his fever always breaks or comes down sufficiently in that time frame. After being around the block a few times, I just do that at home since the first thing they ask is did I give him Tylenol.

They generally alternate acetaminophen and ibuprofen.

Give a dose every two hours, as long as each is four hours apart.

If a fever hits 105 and won't come down, sometimes they start cool baths, a cool wash cloth is rubbed over the skin.

After that, not sure. Thankfully, I never had to find out with my kids.
