We have a nice bit of cloud cover, so it isn't as hot, but it's really humid.
Just going to mess around the house, might go to the dollar tree later.

DELICIOUS ! ! ! That just about sums up the wonderful BBQ plates DH and I just had.
It was a fund raiser to support our local Wilson County No Kill Animal Shelter. They just took in 11 extremely emaciated dogs from a woman who had had over 80 ill treated dogs taken from her home last year. This time she got ARRESTED!
One of the 11, whom the volunteers named Titan, didn't make it. He was so skinny you could count his ribs, and he had mange, fleas, ticks, and several types of worms. Our local vet, who is working with the volunteers, has not billed them yet, but we know it will be several thousands of dollars.
The lady leading the organization put out a call asking for donations to do a Brisket Plate; brisket, sausage, beans, and rice, with sliced onions, dill pickle, and bread. A girl friend and I did the packaging of the pickles and bread. We packed over 300 servings in just a couple of hours. They also had a dessert table ($), but I just went through the drive-thru.
The event was held in the parking lot of a popular local cafe, which is open M-F. I think we'll go have breakfast there on Monday, to tell them how much we appreciated their letting us use their facility.

That is so horrible! ( not the fundraiser, that sounded wonderful). Why would someone neglect, starve 80 dogs, get them taken away to just get 11 more and neglect them too!😡🥺
DD, her friend, and I went apple picking yesterday morning at a local farm. I spent the afternoon at a friend's house, they were having a cookout for her birthday. Last night I made apple sauce. Fun day, jammed packed.
