We were supposed to be dry and sunny through halloween. Liars.
So impressed with Amazon right now. I bought something (not expensive) but then found the exact same thing in nearly new condition at the thrift store. I went to return the one I had and when I clicked on the 'found it cheaper elsewhere' button they sent a message saying to disregard the return policy and that they would just refund my money. So, now i have 2 of them (which I don't need) AND my money. Thank you Amazon!
(also, if anyone needs a Phantom of the Opera sheet music book for flute, let me know and I'll send it)

It's a beautiful fall day for us. But we are watching the weather closely for this weekend. Our fall festival is this weekend and it looks like a major storm wants to crash it.
I need to clean the house. I've let it go for a bit, but I need to get things back in order.
Speaking of orders, I have several for bows. I'm working on them, the extra cash sure does help.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Happy Thursday.

We have the boys' trunk or treat tonight then their first middle school dance. Both boys want to go. #1 refused to go to anything at old school and his knee jerk reaction to this was to skip it but two days ago he told me he wanted to go to the trunk or treat. He needs a costume (which he hadn't gotten) so I said he could wear his taekwondo outfit and go as a black belt. He liked that idea. Then yesterday he told me he wanted to go to the dance but not dance with anyone. I said great!
It's a 180 from last year when he hated school and everything about it. I suspect it's a little bit of FOMO, but I'll take it!
Trunk or treat is trick or treating in a parking lot instead of going house to house.
Churches, and other community groups, will do it.

It was fun. The boys hung out with their friends. Now they are at their first middle school dance.
The cars/trunks were decorated. Some were so over the top. Even had smoke machines.

Sounds fun, like a car show for kids to T-o-T. I have never done one and now that both kids are older I won't experience it. So happy my 'hood has a great trick or treating crowd where even the teens dress up and have fun.

Glad they had fun. Their first middle school dance. Wow. It seems like just yesterday we were talking about teething and potty training.
My trunk will be decorated with spider webs.

So t/t is the same thing but basically takes out the risk of getting hit by a car when running across the street in a mask that has no peripheral vision!
I miss trick and treat. But I really hated those homemade popcorn balls. Anything else was fine....
Well, in my second childhood - or, if you believe in it, my reincarnation. But looking at the world today I am not sure I would want to come back... LOL

You will be happy to know that those horrid balls are extinct.

The trunk treating was fun. The older kids basically hung out. Got a little candy but our supply got low so they donated their stash to give back out. Came home with a little.
Our neighborhood does Halloween up really good. Almost every house participates. No street lights but plenty of bonfires and parents with flashlights. #1 will hide and scare the kids this year. #2 still wants to go out.
The dance was a bit overwhelming (or underwhelming?) for #1. Wasn't his thing and he was miserable for 2 hours. #2 was miserable because he was miserable. #1 talked about it a lot. He's usually very quiet about such things but he didn't stop talking. I just listened. Told him if he's ever at a party or place where he doesn't like what is going on to tell an adult or someone with a phone that his stomach is bothering him and to call me and I'll come get him, no questions asked.
My brother went to a dance once and was miserable and never went to another one. #1 has always reminded me of my brother.
They were my boys who gave back the candy so the smaller kids would have some because we were running out. There were a lot of cars and lots of candy going around, but when they came to our car the boys wanted to make sure there was something to give.
