Respiratory specialist this morning. Then pick up my passport, then grocery shop and then kill the day until I go to my friend's for dinner.

Moving everything out of the living room so the rug can be shampooed.

Why I was not informed of this before getting all the Christmas out is beyond me.

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving, which means all the jobs that needed done over the year is done in the 2 weeks before while I am trying to clean and keep things company ready.

I swear, it's a conspiracy.

My brother told us he is bringing his girlfriend for Thanksgiving. They will be here the day before Thanksgiving. No clue how long they will stay.

He has been seeing her for years, they met at AUB, she lives in Kentucky now, he lives in Alabama, they go back and forth to spend time together. This is the first time any of us will meet her.

5:30 drop off of DD to the school for drill practice, came home, drank :coffee: then hair app't. Now of to grocery shop. DD's homecoming dance is tonight so all heck will break loose when she gets home from school. Exciting. And, yes, bitterly cold.

Most painful part of the month is over. Bills paid.

Moving nicely with the holiday cleaning.

But I've been asked twice what's for dinner.

It never stops.

Two-thirds of what I need to do today
is done. Taking a break before toasting
the baguette slices for the sirloin
crostini with wasabi sauce and cherry
tomato slices.

Caitlyn is having the Braxton hicks contractions, she's had 2 pretty good ones since 1 today.

And she's having a lot of back pain.

She thinks Jewel will be here by next weekend.

I was dilated to 5/6 for 2 weeks.

So, we'll see.

Mooaaannn

I'm exhausted, my back hurts, and
my legs are wobbly from all the
standing, but all the food is done.

I've made 600 pieces of each of
the following:
Mini ribbon sandwiches on a pick;
bacon bites, Sirloin Crostini with
Wasabi Cream, and shrimp pate
for a total of 2400 pieces.

I figure 8 pieces per guest, and
they invited 400, and expect
300 to actually show up. I've
got some cold cuts set aside in
case the hoards are super greedy.

We're not providing plates, just
napkins. Plates encourage people
to load up, and there is the
possibility of major waste. If you
take one piece, you're more
likely to eat it, rather than throw
it away.

There will be a full dinner following,
but the Bride's Mother wanted to
have something for the guests to
nibble on while they are taking
pictures. The dinner will be one
of my favorites - chicken fried
steak !

Can I get a back rub? Whimper?

That's a lot of work, glad you're done. Tylenol and a hot bath for you.

And, yes, plates encourage piling.

Update on the hors d'oeuvres for
the wedding:

All 300 showed up! And they were
hungry! In addition to what I had
planned, I also included a bacon &
celery cheese ball (6 dishes) and
a gallon of candied pecans. The
pecans were a major hit, and the
caterer of the dinner actually
asked for some of the recipes!
Nice compliment.
