The transit strike here has almost shut down a major thoroughfare. Trolley wires ( we have some electric busses) fell and will likely take a week to repair because due to strike action the repair crew can't work overtime. And can only work on repairs during those hours which is causing a total backlog of repairs. It's going to take a week to repair that route.

Sounds like Boston. The unions control everything and make commuting impossible.

Hey, ya'll, sounds like everyone left early today.
I'm finally home, myself. So tired.

Sounds like you all had a good day and hopefully, a good start to a relaxing weekend.
We have the kids for the evening. Had planned to go out with friends for a drink or two, but ….. kids. It's all good. I'm tired anyway.
Start attending basketball games for the three youngest kids tomorrow. Two different towns, so we split. DD is taking two to one town and I'm with the other one. Gotta do what ya gotta do.
DH is staying home and making ribs. I love it when he does the cooking. :)
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
Six kids - three different schools -
Parent-Teacher night - ALL ON THE
SAME DATE!
DH and I split up - let the best
students get a pass, and took on
the four lowest grading teachers.
I wish you all could have seen the
expressions on those teachers'
faces when we told them we had
FOUR other teachers to meet that
night! And yet we chose to duke
it out with them!

I blame the company, not the workers or the union. Our drivers/maintenance/whatever work in crap conditions. No bathroom breaks, no rest breaks. A lounge area at the depots at the end of the line, but nothing else. I was one a bus where the driver had to stop and run into a restaurant to use a bathroom before carrying on because she'd waited so long, the busses were so far behind and she hadn't had a chance in hours.
Also, given what they do in the city they do it in? They should get danger pay. And seriously. Unpaid overtime? No employee wants that. They want to either be out of work or getting paid for their work. I wouldn't do unpaid overtime and I can't imagine working for a company that contracted that. But, when some people are working multiple jobs or doing stupid commute hours, you have to do what you have to do. I'm lucky that I'm not in that position.
