My hospital usually puts on a nice Christmas party every year for the employees. This year the kitchen is under renovations. So we are having breakfast instead of lunch. Catered. By golden corral. It's 6am to 9am to catch night and day staff. Will be interesting.
Of course surgery is super busy today so it will be a challenge to get everyone down to the cafeteria.
Sounds like the hospital cares about its employees Hope it is a good breakfast and you enjoy it - and that no disaster occurs to keep the staff working instead of being able to enjoy this breakfast.

Baking cookies. The school does this "cookies for teachers" thing every year this time and they ask the kids to bring 2 dozen cookies in. Boys want me to make from scratch because. Well. They are better than store bought.
Glad you were able to enjoy breakfast, SB, it's great your hospital does that for yall.
Hi Trudy, Karl, and FNW.
Cookies are not hard. Once you get them mixed, it's easy.
I mixed sugar cookies Monday night, and then I rolled, cut, and cooked 53 cookies yesterday. It only takes 9 minutes to bake a batch.
We got snow, sleet, and rain all night, but nothing stuck.
Jesse said there was a few icy spots here and there, but it wasn't bad.
Have you ever noticed that weather people always sound like they have stuffy noses?
Happy Wednesday.

Wouldn't the teachers be drowning in cookies if every kid brings in a dozen??
Anyone use almond extract instead of vanilla extract in sugar cookies?
I'm curious if it's good.

It's two dozen per family. They are preparing little gift boxes for the teachers with the cookies to take home and share with their families. Maybe if there are leftovers the office staff can take some, too.
I've used almond extract in cupcakes and pound cake and it's nice.
My second batch of dough is in the fridge. I'll get another 50 cookies from it.
I don't think I'm cooking tonight. I just don't feel like it.
