I cannot believe how fast this year flew by. 15 days left of 2019. Wow!
Friday is a half day for DS and marks the end of the first half of Kindergarten. Seems like just yesterday he started Kindergarten. I got the date for registration for 1st grade last week. Won't be long before he'll be graduating high school with how fast time is flying lately.
DS' birthday party is already done for the year. We did a joint party with a couple of his friends on the 1st. The kids all had fun. We have tickets to Medieval Times for his actual birthday. Getting there super early because the first 60 kids get to train with the knights and then get knighted afterwards. He is super excited at the prospect of learning how to use the weapons and do the stunts. We purchased the birthday package so he'll get an announcement during the show. Can't believe he's gonna be 6. Sheesh!
Time does fly, chef! Mine are 11 and in middle school. They get half day on Friday as well. Going to Catholic school now, they actually get to celebrate Christmas and decorate trees and such. They are excited about that!
When I was 16, my great grandmother told me "it took longer to get to 16 than it ever will to get to 60".
She was so right.
I turn 50 in February. My kids are all adults, and I'm a grandmother.
Enjoy your kids, this time with them.
Dad and mom left for Alabama this morning. Dad will be having heart ablation tomorrow. Nervous about that.
I have 2 days to get everything organized while they are gone.
Happy Monday.

I found a tote up in my closet and I brought it down. In it included an envelope filled with old photographs. From when I was 19 until my years in WV, when I was in my mid 30's. Pictures with people I had forgotten about. I wasn't expecting that when I pulled the tote down.
My lunch with some former coworkers was cancelled today, due to illnesses and weather. Today I'm feeling melancholy.
Those with kids at home enjoy them and try not to take this time for granted. Seems like yesterday my kids were little and now both married and 3 kids each. I sometimes wonder how did it happen so fast.

Are you being visited by the ghost of Christmas past?
He came to see me this weekend.
Saturday was our family Christmas party for mom's side, and I couldn't help missing my mawmaw and pawpaw. And yesterday, at church, the guys my pawpaw played guitar and sang with done a song pawpaw used to do. He Touched Me.
And then, of course, I've been thinking a lot about all my grandparents since Jewel came along.

Yes, the year has just whipped by. I think the ghost of Christmas past visits all of us this time of year - for better or worse.
Opened the e-mail this morning and found yet another classmate has passed. Really getting down to a few... Of course receiving that made me think of high school, etc. etc.
Raining here and dreary, which does not help much. LOL Well, I always need something to complain about.
