How about getting a travel book for more local sites and really take a look at what is nearby for day trips. Maybe some interesting sites, bed and breakfasts, etc. I always think we could do more locally.

Well that is why I was thinking about the mountains,the coast is out due to high winds. There are plenty of local sites within hours I would love to go to.

The blue ridge mountains of North Carolina is beautiful, Asheville is a cute artsy town, the Biltmore estate is gorgeous and it may still be decorated for Christmas.
Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge were very pretty last week, especially when it snowed. The mid-week rates were reasonable too.
Thanks, looking at those places. I just need to hang and drink coffee with a view of a mountain.
Rent a cabin with a hot tub. Just try to avoid Wears Valley.
Or, the Mainstay in pigeon forge is a great place.
It's in the middle of town, but three blocks back from the strip.

I need a private hot tub though. Not doing the communal ones anymore, those are bacteria ridden ones.
My coworker had a hot tub at an air bnb with 2 other couples. Three of them ended up needing meds due to a bad skin condition. They contacted the owner and they swore the hot tub was drained and cleaned between guests. I told him that was highly unlikely.

DGD is going to Scotland, England and France in the summer of 2021 on a 10 day science/medical school educational trip. I am so excited for her!

I've been to Germany / Brussels are few time with work. This trip will be centered in Frankfort. It is a relatively short drive to two concentration camps, plus on the Rhine river so plan to do a cruise on that. more details to work out.

We're going to England next summer. We were going to France as well, but it's hot & smelly during the summer, so we'll stick to England. There is so much I want to see there that I missed the last time I went to visit a boyfriend back in 2000.
