Hope everyone has things just about done.

Caitlyn went back to work this morning. I have Jewel. She's sleeping right now.

I got a new phone for Christmas. Still trying to figure it out.

Happy Monday.

Yikes Trudy!

I was going to go to TJs but now the roofer is coming in an hour to ascertain where the leak is coming from (he thought right side of garage but damp on left side). He inspected from outside while we were gone but he really needs to come in and look. So I'll have to go to another store later because TJ's becomes a nightmare if you don't get there first thing.

You need to bubble wrap yourself.

Finished off errands. Making a fruit arrangement for a party later at a friend's.

Off today. I was on call yesterday and worked about 14 hours. Got some running around done. I bought a smart plug. Now I need to decide what to play with.

Brought lots and LOTS of Christmas
goodies to the Seniors' party today.
Things we've gotten as gifts in years
past, that don't quite fit with our
decorations.

Plus I made molded shrimp dip and
a spaghetti salad. We had about 15
more people than usual, so I'm glad
we had something to stretch the
meal that the Food Bank sent. Ham,
stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed,
wheat roll, and fruit salad. With the
addition of the shrimp dip as an
appetizer, everyone was well fed.

SPAGHETTI SALAD - Momala
1# spaghetti, broken in half 16 oz bottle
Italian or Spicy Italian dressing 3T grated
fresh parmesan 1T sesame seeds 1T
poppy seeds 2t seasoned salt 1t paprika
1/2 t garlic powder 1/2 t black pepper
1/2 t cayenne 1 medium cucumber, peeled
& finely diced 1 small red onion, finely diced
2 tomatoes diced (or halved cherry tomatoes)
1C finely minced parsley or mixture of parsley/
cilantro 1 each red & green bell pepper, finely
diced

Cook spaghetti in salted water as directed, drain,
rinse with cold water, drain again. Transfer to
large bowl. In medium bowl, whisk together salad
dressing, cheese, seeds, salts, paprika, garlic &
peppers til well blended. Stir in cucumber & onion,
parsley, cilantro & bell peppers. Pour over warm
spaghetti & toss lightly to coat evenly. Cover &
refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 24. Garnish w/
tomatoes, parsley & cilantro. Travels well.

Already the 24th over here. The eldest son of our next door neighbor came over today and asked us to visit his dad to say goodbye. He has been in declining health for a year due to an inoperable brain tumor. Now cannot walk, is incontinent (I think the delicate term is), hearing is shot, etc. They cannot take care of him at home any longer so he is going into a hospice and they expect him to live until around the middle of January. Will celebrate his 73rd birthday on New Years Day. So, went over. He has really failed. The visit really shook me up for some reason.... Just the idea that this is the end for him, I guess. Sorry to create a downer on this post....

I am so sorry, karl. It's hard to see people we once knew as healthy and vibrant, no longer. A reminder of our own mortality.
