It's cold! 😖

Why do I have so much Christmas stuff? And it feels like a lot is missing, too.

Feels good to get it organized again, though.

Happy Saturday.

Busy today. Errands then DD and I went to the HS to support the Empty Bowl fundraiser for the local soup kitchen. Many of the students made bowls in art class and local restaurants donate soup. $10 donation to choose a bowl and get soup or $5 for just soup. We chose bowls.

Heading back out again soon to take DD and a friend for an early dinner. Need to be back early to avoid the snow.

I just spent a very long time trying to find a hair dresser. Mine is booked solid (she does a lot of tv and movie stuff, so if you're not on the ball you're not getting in) so I need somewhere else. 90% of what I found was specificially asian. Asian language only, all asian models and staff, all asian hair treatments. Also found a lot of the same for the south asian community. I really had to look really hard for a salon that was basic and general and not specifically directed towards a culture.

So frustrating. Hopefully they're good though, so I have them as a back up,

I had a good asian hairdresser years ago.

I book my next one while I'm checking out. Sometimes several months worth if it's the holidays.

So book now for availability for the next year.  Then try an interim hair dresser.  You  may like the person and skill.

I use Great Clips, or Caitlyn trims it for me. I'm in an out in less than 30 minutes. Of course I just get it shaved mostly.  I've let it grow out a bit this time.

Almost finished sorting Christmas stuff. We've listed at least 12 things missing. No clue where it is. I've got 7 boxes sorted and labeled and ready to go up in the attic. The only tree left to take down is my living room tree. We'll do that tomorrow.

It's cold. I don't mind being cool, I like cooler temps, but everyone wants to turn the heat up. It's rained since midnight, had sleet for a bit.

I'm sure they're great!  I'm not concerned with the ethnicity of the hairdresser.  I am not super into salons that promote special textures, special products for special hair etc etc etc which limits them to a cultural specialty.  I also want a salon that speaks fluent english.  Often 'designated' salons or spas will have stylists/whoever who speak only the language that the salon markets to.  It is hard to communicate choices, decisions, wants and likes when the person has to call over someone who speaks better english to translate for them.

Right?  Problem being her shoots/reshoots get scheduled last minute or go long, or whatever.  Such is life in a film town.  I've had the salon call and cancel appointments or reschedule me with someone else because her shoot went long.  I haven't found someone I like there yet.  I've actually put one person on my 'not again ever' list.  So, if she's there I book.  Until now it's worked out within a small chunk of time, but this is pushing it.  Maybe I'll like the new place.  They have about 10 stylists with very different specialties, so hopefully there will be a good match.  I didn't book based on specialty - I booked next available, so we'll see.
