I am house sitting for famlly and have access to a fully stocked baking pantry.  What should I make?  Right now I'm thinking these, but I always wind up with short little stumpy muffins rather than the pretty ones with the muffin tops.

Try separating the yolks and whites. Mix everything but the whites, beat the whites to stiff peaks, cold in and bake.

I would if I had a maker.  Bread takes too long to make from scratch to be an after-work process, and I suck at it.

FORTY NINERS
1# box light brown sugar 2C bisquick
4 large eggs, well beaten 2C chopped
pecans
Mix all ingreds & blend well. Pour into
greased & floured 9x13 pan. Bake at
325 for 30-35 min. Remove from oven,
cool thoroughly before slicing in 48 squares.
Dust w/ XXX sugar

After cutting, wrap individually in plastic
wrap. These freeze well, and travel
well.

I think next time, I'll try dark brown
sugar.
