Momala, I hope you're back in bed now dreamin' sweetly!
We've had a super windy couple of days. I'm hoping today will be calm.
The store was a madhouse yesterday. I had 8 1/2 hours of it yesterday and was never so glad to be home. A mix of people being super grateful we're open thanking us they shopped and those who are irritated because we don't have what they wanted (only a handful of those though). One customer gave me a $1 scratch off but I didn't even win free one! Lots of people wearing masks and gloves. Most being mindful of the 6-foot rule and some just not caring and walking straight up to us within inches. UGH I hope today is slower. I have a 7-hour shift.
A friend came over with takeout and we hung out for a couple of hours.
118 new cases reported here today in Tokyo.
The supermarket was not crowded and they seemed to have everything except pasta.....
The "not knowing" about the length of time this will go on, exactly how it is spread, etc. is starting to get on people's nerves, as well as the voluntary stay home request.....
We are still fine. Went to the park for a bit this afternoon - no one else was there.
Our supermarkets are still pretty busy. They have pasta but it’s pretty low. Still no rice, paper products and very little meats. 131 cases in my county of 186,000.
Have to clean the house today. I'll stick to vacuuming and changing/washing the sheets. Hoping the dreary weather goes away for later today. I want to take the dog out for a much needed walk.
our supermarkets seem to have a bit of everything, not a ton of stock but enough. So glad they cut back on the number of any one item one person can buy and that the number of people allowed inside the store is limited. You have to line up outside and as a person leaves another can go in. The wait isn't long. However it irks me to see couples and whole families going shopping together. Those 6 family members mean 6 people have to wait in line.

I'm going to have to run to the store some time this weekend. DH went the other day but only picked up a couple items, ignoring my grocery list sitting on the counter. As grateful as I am that he has been running in, there are certain items he comes home with that has me shaking my head, like WTF? Suger-free gum (loaded with aspartame), high fructose corn syrup filled jelly, etc. Seriously?
IKWTDS, I was shaking my head yesterday at all the families who came in to shop. And, parents who just are not keeping their kids in line with curtailing their awful behaviors. UGH! Seriously, you all need to come to the store and possible infect everyone? Surely one parent could've stayed home with those three, four, five, six kids you dragged in here and not keeping an eye on!!! I gave the stink eye to several kids who were climbing all over everything, carts, shelves included. What is wrong with people?

Baffles me too

We had a lineup at the store yesterday like we were at 6 Flags. A caller for the back of the line (because it's hard to tell where it is when everyone is so spaced out) and reminding people that no reuseable bags can go in (which is stupid. They're not any more contaminated than the clothes I'm wearing) and sending those over 65 straight in. People were pretty good in the store, but definitely some *******s picking up fruit/veg and then putting it back down.
I intervened between some ignorant customer who was going off on a cashier about some protective rule. I hate when people take their **** out on service employees. I was one for so long and could never say the things that were in my head, so now I say them on behalf of the staff who can't.

I think its because its hard for the mom to take the little ones by herself and they all go together because the dad doesn’t want to watch the kids by himself, at least that is my opinion.
Menards, which is a type of store like Lowe’s banned kids under 16 until the shelter at home is lifted
I used to have delivery when the boys were little rather than try to wrangle them in a grocery store. And I didn't want them riding in those germ infested carts.
Reusable bags are nasty, germ filled, things. It's really rare someone actually cleans them properly.
I went early yesterday morning to both Walmart and then the grocery store. No problems getting in or out, people were friendly and considerate.
Caitlyn went around 4pm, the line up had started. 1person, 1 buggy only.
She didn't bother.
My mom feels she is above the mandate. She went three times to various stores yesterday evening. She and dad took the trash off this morning, and she just had to stop at the ACE for plastic totes.
I swear. I think she'll have to get a fine before she actually gets it.
Trying to figure out dinner.

Well la-ti-dah for Dad that can't handle an hour with the kids. Hear is an idea, how about he does the shopping? Rant over
I am doing the cleaning. Carpet came out great. Laundry being done. Once its in the dryer I am going on a much needed power walk. DD took the dog with her to her father's so I can actually get a good walk in rather than having to stop every foot for Sonny to have to sniff something.

I've been wondering how visitations would be affected by this.
It seems kids going back and forth would be a spreading danger.

Our state allows for visitation related travel. But I agree. It would seem like a danger of spreading.
DH ran to the store for me. He needs to get out of the house more than I. Half the people wore masks. He ran into someone we know. They chatted at a distance. Store put limits on how many of certain items you can get. 3 rice, 3 milk, 3 pasta. Not sure what else. No tissue or TP still. Rice and pasta were there, but not much. Produce was good, but he tried to get packaged produce because of the dimwits coughing and sneezing intentionally on produce.

Yeah I am concerned about that as well. DD babysat her niece yesterday since her brother and wife needed to work. And today she is off with her father. That is 3 households that may be compromised that I won't know about unless we get sick. I think the courts will dismiss any contempt of court lawsuits for visitation.

I talked to a guy this morning whose wife runs an in-home daycare. He said they've closed it mainly because parents don't want to send their kids to germy little germ pots. He said except for one woman who wanted to drop off her foster kid. She was keeping the other kids at home but was trying to ditch the foster. They said no and reported her.
The daycare Caitlyn works at is open and considered essential. But it's because most of the kids are children of essential workers.
But they are being very careful about incoming people.
