Good morning, Good Geeks!smile

It's sunny and mild right now. The storms will roll in around noon.

We got some bad news yesterday. My sister-in-law, Sandy, fell and broke her wrist and her hip. She's having surgery sometime today.cry

I feel so sorry for her. This is not a good time to have to be in the hospital.

Oh well.

How is everyone doing?

Prayers, FWM!

I think we'll mulch the yard today. The gardener we usually use hasn't been around yet. We had ordered bags through the church fundraiser but due to COVID they cancelled. So we ordered from Home Depot and they arrived the other day. It won't be enough but we can at least get the front yard mulched. DH edged the front last week in preparation. I want more bags for the north 40 where I will lay down cardboard I've been saving from all our deliveries and put the mulch on top for weed control. I usually spray roundup but with veggies back there, I don't want the overspray so I'm going to go with a no dig method.

Woke up to my furnace not coming on. I do have back up heat from my Mitsubishi AC units but no back up for heating the water. Luckily I have a contract with a company and they will be here this afternoon.

That really sucks FWM but I hear the numbers of the virus in Oh are really low. At least she will be safe and getting care.

I am scheduled to pick up the Easter dinners later today from a restaurant. I'm glad I thought ahead and do not have to deal with the grocery store.

I just vacuumed by kitchen cupboards, yes I am that bored.

I went grocery shopping. It really stresses me out. The shelves were practically empty. That part doesn’t stress me, it’s the fact that there’s a ton of visitors here and they all pillaged the store before heading to the gated communities on the beach. All those fresh germs from elsewhere.

Neighbor is helping DH change out the
electric plug for the new (used) dryer.
Ours died yesterday, and DH went on-
line and found one for $65. Not bad,
except he didn't realize it will open the
wrong way :( Washer is on the right,
so the hinge for the dryer should be on
the left. Oh well. As long as it works.
We're blessed to have such good neighbors.

Heavy storms are predicted for later today.
At least we missed the hail yesterday.

Had a gas line explosion Thursday night
about 15 miles from our home (struck
by lightning). Everyone within a two mile
radius had to evacuate. The stench was
terrible, but at least you knew what you
were smelling. Fire companies from two
counties spent the night dealing with this,
but at least there were no injuries.

The lake area where  I do my shopping is where people who live in the big cities here own lake homes, so the same thing is happening here, unfortunately they come from the areas that have the largest population that is infected by the virus.

This is happening on some of our smaller islands, too.  There are about 5 inhabited ones in a small area with a ferry between them with ferries to and from the mainland.  There has been a full infestation of weekenders and cabin-ers, hiking, barbequeing on the beaches, biking, etc.  Biggest problem?  These 5 islands have 1 full time clinic between them.  And two sets of nautical paramedics.  Health emergencies are evacuated by air ambulance.  If a nautical paramedic gets sick or is otherwise out, there is no replacement because of the navigation and weather issues of the area.  One of the largest islands up north ( (9hr ferry) has closed it's travel completely.  Nobody on. Even if you live there.

Our governor suspended any new reservations for short term rentals but these people probably made reservations a year ago.

the doors can be changed to the other side I believe.  I am having the same issue with my new washer and dryer.  I  just didn't think to pay attention to that.  When DS gets here I am going to see if we can just put the washer where the dryer is and vice versa.  That will work if my washer connection hoses are long enough.

Furnace is being fixed. Air intake cap came off. Guy is do a full going over to make sure it is nothing else.

Picked up the Easter meal. The restaurant is great packaged it so the individual meal items can be reheated / cooked as they should.

Good evening.

It's been a lazy Saturday. Got a few things done. Making burgers for dinner.

Sorry about the cancelled vacations. I have a feeling there will be some great travel deals after this is over, trying to recoup the lost money.

I'm planning on going to the beach next Mother's day. That's my goal.

Happy Saturday evening.

I have a feeling they will price gouge because everyone will be chomping at the bit to travel and they know they can get away with it. But if oil prices continue to drop and stay low, airfares might be lower, too, so who knows.

Cruise lines have to figure out the air flow systems. I would never go on a cruise.

I have a friend that had to re plan her vacation and airfare in November is still cheap.
