I'd check with someone who does taxes. I don't think it matters as long as you purchase it for a business, and have a receipt.

Okay, smart people. Am I doing this right? I'm buying 'gently used' furniture for my office so that my budget is broader (more pieces) rather than new pieces from a store where I would get less. BUT.... If I spend more I can claim the tax. If I don't I am spending money with no return. Thoughts?

So you can't write off used supplies? Only new ones? Here is the states all expenses are well expenses against revenue so it reduces how much income is taxable.
I'm not sure. I know that GST paid = GST deduction, but then only the GST. Except with electronics that depreciate.
