Good morning, my pretties!

We're suppose to hit 100 today, but a cold front should roll through tonight, and cool things off a bit.

I can't wait!biggrin

I guess I'll do a few chores.

Nothing very exciting going on here.

How about you?

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

Good morning, Geekie Peeps! It's already very hot here, albeit clear and calm. The sun is out in full force but we will be approaching 90 with the humidity climbing as the day wears on.

I never did get to the rest of the flowers for the balcony so I'll be doing that this morning. Right now, the sun is directly on the balcony so I'll wait a bit until it moves around to the side. in the mean time, I'll be doing my normal chores, dishes, making the bed, etc. I was floored the other day when I was out in the kitchen and had my glasses on. I'm ashamed to say I did not realize how grimy the stove had become since I rarely have my glasses on around the house. It took me a good hour to clean it all down. UGH! *need to get better are this cleaning crap*

I have a Dr.s appt later this afternoon to get some help with some breathing / asthma issues. That's about it for me.

Latest MIL story...
She keeps asking me for picts of the kids' birthday parties. I've told her over and over that they didn't have a party this year, they went to the beach for a week instead. This morning, she texted DD and asked for picts of their parties. I think that she thinks they had a party and she wasn't invited and is trying to trap us into sending her picts of this "party". DD sent her the SAME picts I sent (from the beach) and she told her that she already has those, but she wants some more. UGH...Spot the Loony!!!!

Good morning! Rained this morning but thankfully it has stopped and the sun is shining through. Going to pick up grandson number 2 to have one on one time. He isn’t ready yet for a sleepover without big brother.

We were supposed to leave for the beach house on the outer banks N.C. This Frida, but ended up canceling 😢, both my daughter and daughter in law got nervous about taking their kids especially the babies because of the virus.

My mother didn't believe me when I told her I wasn't having a bridal shower and showed up two weeks before our wedding because she wanted to be in town for all the "festivities."   We weren't having a wedding party, just a ceremony at the country club with our immediate family.  There was no "rehearsal" dinner, but since our parents and SIL was in town we took them to dinner the night before.  The only "festivities" we had was a reception in our home the day after we we got married (we got married on a Friday).  I'm not sure what "festivities" she thought we would have two weeks before our wedding.

Going to MO in September to meet the family of the new guy.  Taking a day off from daycare and going to have a four day weekend over labor day.  I get so tired of every day life.  The dogs get on my nerves, my kids get on my nerves, just life.  I need a break every now and then.

 Sorry, that stinks...:(

Although I'm fascinated about the precautions people are still taking.  We've never taken any.  Life has gone back to usual here after about 4 weeks of partial shutdown.

Hey, y'all, I feel almost myself today. YAY!

It's a humid, sticky day. It'll rain like crazy for a few minutes, then it'll stop and steam up. The rain is hot. It's a 10 on the frizz scale kind of day.

Hi, FWM, TRUDY, LINDLEY, and MOMALA.

Have fun decorating, TIG.

FS, just don't wear your glasses. 😜

Me, too, NJN. Some place with endless horizons, crashing waves, and unlimited refreshing drinks.

O4, put a party hat on the cat, send her that picture.

Perhaps she was hoping for a bachelorettes party at a strip club, FNW.

Happy Tuesday.

My daughter is a RN, and they have covid patients in her hospital, she had a baby in October and dil had a baby the end of February so the Virus makes them extra cautious.  Dh and I decided to just wait for another time when everyone can enjoy it.

Some things I hope never stop are hand washing, people keeping a distance, and one way grocery aisles!

Not cause I'm a big germaphobe, but because I don't like people.

Oh, I totally empathize with their fear.  Our DIL is an emergency room RN.  She's seen several positive patients, but we still watch their son a few nights a week.  We've been to the cabin 4 times. We just don't have that level of fear here.

Not a fan of the one-way grocery aisles, but I could adapt. But distancing, hand washing, etc., I like that and have done it myself for years.

I took the boys to school today to drop off their books and pick up their yearbooks, report cards, etc. They scheduled the drop-off by grade. Several teachers were out to help. They all were wearing masks, we did not. Each boy had a bag with their books and as we walked up the gym teacher stopped them, clearly panicked. "Stop right there. Just set the bags down. Don't come any closer!" The boys figure she's one of the "vulnerable" ones and was quite scared. (She's retiring now). I think they should have found someone else to help out because clearly she was scared.

Regardless, it was nice to see them again. One of the teachers told me seeing the boys in their Navy shirts made her smile. She had to tell me that because we can't tell from the masks. I hope the requirement for those ends soon. I miss seeing smiles.

Very few are wearing masks, here. Even fewer are wearing them properly. 🙄

My niece and her mom flew out to see my nephew, and they had to wear them in the airport and on the plane.

I'd like to visit Branson, it seems like Pigeon Forge.

There are shelves full of masks at Ollie's. At a lot of the overstock buy out places, actually.

I've actually been to Branson before. We went about two years ago. It was a lot of fun. We went to see an Elvis impersonator. It was the cousin of Elvis that did the singing. I really enjoyed it. It's a cute place. It was one of those places on my bucket list. We had hotel rooms when we went. This time we are staying at the home he lives in with his brother. His brother just got married on Memorial day. I'm looking forward to meeting his wife as she is very curious about me and has been FB stalking me. LOL His two sisters live two doors down and I will get to meet them too.

I have a whole stack of masks. I collect them. Every time I go to the doctor or physical therapy they give me a new one. I've accumulated quite a few masks by now.

I enjoy going to Branson landing and sometimes a friend and I will make a day trip there to shop and eat at the Mexican restaurant there. Sadly a lot of stores closed. My husband and I sometimes go to big cedar lodge, love it there.

We went to this little five and dime downtown. It was so much fun. They had tons of stuff and I bought all my family stuff from there. It was a really neat store. They had tons of cute baby stuff but that was way before my DD was ever even thinking of becoming pregnant.

NJN - family of the 'new guy'?? Did I miss something important (NJN & New Guy, sitting in the tree!)

One way grocery aisles better not become a thing. Annoys the living crap out of me.

Do you think they have to pay tax on looting income?

Probably pretty transparent.  I have had a male BFF for over four years.  He was friends with DH too.  He used to come visit us and stayed in our guest bedroom.  We'd go out to eat and take him to places around town.  He travels a lot and it was a good excuse for me to visit places on my bucket list totally with DH's permission.  DH would always beg off and use the time for "alone" time.  We always stayed in separate hotel rooms when we went somewhere.  Right before I met him and we all became friends his wife of 40 years had left him for another man.  Anyway, when everything went sideways he stood by me and talked me through a lot of stuff until I could get an appointment with my old therapist.  We are great friends and know each other inside and out.  His visit was to talk about if we wanted to move this from a friendship to more.  We decided we do.  He met my parents and labor day weekend I am going to meet his family.  I met one of his brothers briefly but it was a very casual thing.  He is coming back in September to start the process of moving here.  So that, as they say, is that.  LOL We just got in a tiff over the new TV.  My new smart TV came so I'm sure the government was listening to us bicker about the remote control.  LMAO

Had the uncomfortable talk with the new mom today.  The agreement when she brought the little girl was that she would be here four days a week.  T-F.  I agreed to that.  We talked about if you let me know AHEAD of time I prorate for days you are not here.  She has not been following that.  I will wait for the little girl to come and when she's late I will call.  Mom will say, Oh I forgot to tell you she's not coming today.  Then she expects the day to be prorated.  She is now down to bringing her three days a week and let me know that grandma wants to keep her one day a week now too.  Soon she will be only be coming two days a week.  I reminded her of the original agreement and then said, While I love your daughter and she is a joy to have here I also have bills to pay.  Please let me know if you can stick to the original agreement or if you need to find someone to watch her part time.  I haven't heard back from her yet.  I have a feeling she will pull her.  Won't surprise me and I won't be too upset.  Just like the parents need me to be dependable I, also, need them to be dependable.  We will see what happens.
