Completely wrong charge. LL, do you think this is intentional so he'll get off and spark more riots, or do you think the prosecutor is really that stupid?
Not a lawyer, but I think the prosecutor wants to set an example, but they are aiming too high.
It will cause more problems in the long run.

It's not even aiming high. It's not over charging. It's inappropriate. Felony murder is any death which occurs during the commission of felony is felony murder. That negates specific intent to kill. There must be an underlying felony, not just the death/murder.
What felony was the officer committing? None. It's not an appropriate charge.
believe the da is up for reelection--just grandstanding at the expense of an innocent police officer in an incident where another black perp resists arrest/apprehension after assaulting a police officer

I think he's trying to force him to plea. The police are just not showing up for work today in protest. It's a ridiculous charge.

None. The man was drunk driving, fell asleep in his car in the drive thru, resisted arrest, knocked down a police officer hard enough to give him a concussion, stole the cop's tazer and pointed it at the other cop. The officer was completely justified in shooting him.

doubt there will be any plea deal, not with all the video evidence(and the taser fired at the officer by the perp also records the event)
as to the other officer involved, he will not be testifying against the accused officer either--as confirmed by his attorney
grandstanding bs by a corrupt/crooked da (who is currently under investigation by the gbi for grand theft/" misappropriation " of campaign/official funds)
no doubt a change of venue request in the offing though the gbi investigation into this incident will most likely vindicate the officer--da decided to bring
charges sans a grand jury indictment and then, in public, declared the officer a " murderer "
the da should be terminated for misconduct(at a minimum)or ideally disbarred and prosecuted
like mosby, another aa/quota grad lawyer
