I want to skip working permanently at this point. Far too much drama at work lately.

Good morning! It's a beautiful start to the day here. Lots of sunshine, cool and clear. Not much going on for me this morning. Just relaxing a bit with my cuppa. I have to work this afternoon but thankfully, only four hours. It's really gotten so bad at work with favoritism, retaliation, etc. at Weis that it's becoming unbearable. I was hoping to make it another year until some bills are paid off and I qualify for medicare but I may have to start looking. The determining factor will be how badly they cut hours for the summer for those of us who got them through the pandemic nonsense with working doubles, etc. because other ran out the door at the first sign of the pandemic. UGH!

Hope everyone has a great day!

I'd love to, also. Mittens slept on the outfit I laid out, then followed me and cried all morning.

Poor mittens. One time when I dropped Sonny off at the kennel since I had to travel, he peed on me.

FS have any of those peeps come back to work? It really sucks they don't appreciate you more.

Slow day here. I may take the afternoon off.

Have a great day!

It really does suck big time. Weis Markets treats their employees like slaves. Anyway, one that I know of came back a week or so ago. Another is planning to come back starting this Sunday. But both have said the only reason they're coming back is because when they left, they had to go out on a leave of absence with Weis and that only lasts 90 days, which is up. Weis threatened if they didn't come back, they would contact unemployment and deny their claim. Also, both have said they have not seen a dime of either state or federal monies. The state placed holds on their initial UC claims because Weis Markets claimed they quit, even though there is a paper trail for the leave of absence.

Right?

And, let's add to the crap of this company . . .

A couple of weeks ago, shortly after the BLM stuff started, an employee in one of the stores somewhere, wore a mask that had "White Matters" written on it. Now, I get how inflammatory that could be to customers or even another employee. To be fair, I'm not sure if any employees wore a BLM mask. However, someone complained about the "White Matters" one and Weis then instituted a company-wide policy that masks with any logos, even school logos, were no longer permitted. This also included my mask(s) that included peace signs, a yellow one with a smile across it, another one that is green with big eyes and a small smile on it, etc. Who knew smiles were offensive. It also included one another employee had with a rubber ducky on it, go figure. Weis says the only acceptable masks are those with flowers, checks as in little squares, stripes, etc. Even if some of those that are striped could possible represent African American tribals, which, of course, the company would know nothing about in it's fury to curb people's individuality.

And, to make matters worse . . . hold on to your hats . . . this is an American company, owned and operated for over a hundred years I believe by Americans . . . we are not allowed to wear any symbol of our American flag! Yes, that's right . . . we cannot wear a pin, hat, shirt, mask, etc. that has any representation of our flag on it. Yet, they have flags posted / mounted all over the store.

Customers got wind of it and took to FB to complain and garner support to boycott the store, not that I believe that will make any difference to Weis.

Everyone is gone so I have the weekend for myself. We ordered pizza for lunch and the kids loved it. Guess I'll be eating leftover pizza for dinner. I interviewed with a nurse today that wants to leave her two year old here two days a week. She works nights and needs sleep. I have another family I do drop ins for twice a week. The boys are 13 months and 8. Cute kids.
