just saw the cilantro is about to flower. I googled cilantro harvesting and so cut it down, but the original plant will continue to grow. Smells awesome. We plan on incorporating into all our meals this week.
The day has been relaxing. My side nesting tables arrived. I had already bought this set and like them so much I bought another set. The fit the living so well and provide extra table space when I have a bunch of peeps over. Cannot not wait for the new sofa. About 2 weeks.
How are your days going?

Went inside an actual church building for church service the first time since March 8. It was glorious! Then we took DH out for a belated Father’s Day brunch.
We keep having thunderstorms roll through. It’s supposed to go on pretty much all afternoon and well into the night. Good sleeping weather.
I’ve been sewing masks for our much anticipated mother - daughter trip to Disney this fall. We are planning on having two different mask per day and the masks will be themed for the different parks. We hope that the numbers drop and we are actually able to go.
I was able to attend this morning, I missed the last 2 Sundays because of my knees. I was going to go this morning or die trying.
I'm aggravated. We're waiting on my neice to get here to eat. She's over an hour late. My mom is insisting we wait. I don't understand why, neice is always late, she usually doesn't eat when she gets here, and leaves as soon as she can.
Oh well.
Had a storm come through. Looks like another may be building.
Happy Sunday.

Our governor does not want to shut down. He keeps saying people need to be responsible and follow guidelines. A lot of places here are shutting down on their own. 59 new cases in my county today.

And that is what should be done, private business have their rules, customers can decide what they are comfortable with, no overreach by Gov't

Evening, Peeps! Hope y'all have had a great Sunday! It's been stinking hot here. I think we had about ten drops of rain today. I've gotten the normal chores done and cleaned out the pantry. I really need to learn not to stock up on so much stuff. I had three grocery bags full of stuff that was outdated. *sigh* I hate when I waste money that way. NO MORE!!! lol
I had an interesting visitor today, around mid afternoon. On my deck, I put up some hanging solar lanterns. They're really cute but I was sitting on my chair in the apartment. It's right by the door leading out to the balcony. The door is open and the screen is there. All of a sudden I hear this whoosh or fluttering sound. Never heard it before. I look out and there is a hummingbird at the lantern. I guess it thought it was a feeder. I didn't think we had hummers around here so I got on Amazon and bought a couple of feeders. I can't wait for them to come now.
Don't waste money on store-
bought nectar! One cup water
and 1/4 cup sugar - dissolve
completely. And please !
Never never ever put in red
dye! It is harmful to the
hummer eggs. To keep ants
out of the feeder, put some
vaseline on the pole holding
the feeder (or the metal
holding the feeder).
Hummers are very territorial
and will "fight" with other
hummers. Once they get
to know where to come for
pure nectar, they will buzz
dive you if the feeder gets
empty! Beautiful little
buggers!
Hiya, Momala! I love how you know EVERYTHING! hahahaha Yes, I know not to put red dye in. And I would never waste money on the store-bought nectar. A bottle of that stuff is like $8+; making it at home costs pennies for the same amount. lol I didn't know about the vaseline. Cool. Thank you!!! I know they had ant moats for sale on Amazon but I didn't bother ordering that. I'll use the vaseline. I'm on a second-floor apartment and have never seen an ant up here anywhere, thankfully.
I've heard how territorial they are. I was trying to decide between two feeders; one holding 10 oz and the other 24 oz. I chose the 10oz one because it will empty quicker and I can clean it more often. Plus it was prettier than the other. lol Each feeder bottom has four or five ports for them to feed from. I know to make sure all the detergent is rinsed off it as well. I always use really, really, REALLY hot water when washing dishes.
I can't wait to get them. I've always loved hummers so this will be fun to watch.
I started with one feeder, quickly added a second. Last summer I thought I was going to need a third, but this year, there isn't as many. Trees were cut, I think it run some off.
But I'll have as many as 6 out here at once at times. When you put the water out, sit out there for bit. Just calmly watching. They'll fly right up to you.
And they eat the ants. So don't worry about that.

I mean honestly you don't even need a feeder. My sister gets tons of birds. She literally just tosses out a couple cups of bird food, mostly black oil sunflower seeds and she has a lot of nice birds.

For any bird but hummingbirds.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I have several cilantro plants. I picked as much as I could and dried most to use in dishes, saving a bouquet of fresh to make sure I harvested what I could but there's still a branch or two that bolted which I was hoping would re-seed next year.
