Been busy. Finished mulching the garden and then down along the side of the driveway around the arborvitaes. I do need to complete the rock border on the garden to keep the mulch from washing away but will do that later in the week I think. Don't want to spend tomorrow in traction. I have approximately 1 yard left of mulch. Not sure if I will use it. I may just ask my neighbors if they want it.
I sure hope the neighborhood fireworks don't happen again tonight. The towns people and their fireworks were incredible last night but the dogs were not happy.
My cukes and zucinni have started. Looks like I will have lots. They are only 1 - 3" long but that happened overnight.
Happy Sunday everyone!

Happy Sunday.

IKWTDS, you've sure been busy. I wish I had half your energy.
I had fun watching the hummers this morning. Then, took my cuppa over to visit with one of the neighbors on her patio for a couple of hours. Now, home doing some chores. I put some red sauce on to simmer. Hungry for ravioli. Just going to take it easy the rest of the day.
It's a scorcher out there for sure. Mid 90s and virtually no breeze or cloud cover to help. Trying to find something worthwhile to watch on TV.

Do you have Netflix? Try Working Moms, The Last Kingdom, Dead to Me, Supernatural, The 100, or Ozarks.
Lots of variety there.
I started trying to watch Warrior Nun yesterday, but everyone wanted to gather and talk each time I turned it on. It looks like it might be good, I haven't finished the first episode yet, but it looks interesting.

Ozarks is da bomb. Awesome. BF got me hooked on it. He also got me hooked on Yellowstone. Another awesome series. Couple weekends ago I finished OITNB. Not for everyone but I like it. My trash tv comes on tonight. Can hardly wait. We had a nice fourth of July. My son and his friend shot off some fireworks even though they are illegal. But then again so did most of the neighborhood. Everyone loved it except for one neighbor. Most people were happy there were fireworks as our city canceled ours. I've found most neighbors just want a touch of normal.

OITNB was great. Good stories. But I can not stand Piper. What whiny, entitled, busy body. I really got to the point of hating that character.

Lily, I do have netflix and hulu. It's just I've watched so many of the shows, I'm hardpressed to find anything I'm interested in. lol
NJN, I watched the first two seasons of Ozarks I think. I tried to get into the new season and it just didn't grab me like the first season did. I absolutely LOVE Yellowstone. There was talk of only one season for it but thankfully Paramount I think it was, picked it up. I just love Kevin Costner. And the head ranch hand who's messing with the daughter is super cool. Love him too.
Closed up the watermelon stand
today. Practically gave away lots
of melons - $3 each or 2/$5. All
of my pickles are gone. Just busy
cleaning everything up, and
loading everything in the truck -
including 2 heavy chairs, 3 fans,
and all the other paraphenalia
we manage to accumulate.
Friend will come by tomorrow
in her truck, and bring all the
leftover melons to her rescue
horses - they LOVE melons!

Yes. She does get on your nerves.

I am hooked on Ozarks. I never liked the lawyer lady though. Glad she met her fate. I'm hooked on Yellowstone now. Dang BF. I can't afford to get hooked on too many programs! Yes, it's on Paramount. Ripp. He's the main ranch hand. He's sexy as all get out. I have to admit I have a crush on him! I do hope he marries the daughter. I think they'd make a good couple.

Ripp! Yes, that's him and yes, he is quite sexy. And this season he's showing a tender side when it comes to her. It's adorable. I'm crushing too. I have to say though, I'm not fond of the daughter. lol But, she definitely has a brass set of balls. Casey is cute too.
I may try to get through the third season of Ozarks just because I'm not finding anything else that's catching my eye.
I started a show tonight on Showtime called "Outcry". It's kind of like a 20/20 investigative or true crime thing. I think there's been four episodes so far following one story out of Texas about a boy falsely accused of child molestation.
Lily ~
I would LOVE to donate all the
leftovers to a food bank, but
unfortunately they don't have
one within 50 miles of me.
On a happy note, a friend who
used to run a food ministry in
the area is looking to move
back to my area, and is on
the lookout for an inexpensive
building to work out of. She
would take culls, or seconds,
of all fruits and veggies from
local growers, and sell them
to the community for pennies
on the dollar. Good, healthy
food that Kroger, or Aldi, or
Costco turn their noses at,
just because it might have
a blemish or two, or is the
"wrong" size. I remember
being invited to glean at a
local farm, where the farmer
had been injured, and couldn't
harvest his crop of broccoli.
He showed us how to cut the
stalks, and we gleaned more
than three pick-up loads of
beautiful, but "too large"
heads of one of my favorite
veggies. We took them to
a central mission kitchen,
par-boiled them, and packed
them into baggies to give to
local citizens, concentrating
on seniors and those who
had lost their jobs. I used
one case to make cream of
broccoli soup - I thought I
would never get the smell
out of my house!
We used to glean at the
Convention Center, or the
Alamadome, where they would
have huge catered events. If
you are serving 1,000 people,
you prepare for 1,100 to handle
any unexpected guests. We
especially liked it when it rained
the day of the event, because
rain always made for smaller
crowds. It was nothing to glean
over 1,000 dinner rolls, or salad
for 200, or 1,000 enchiladas.
We would put the food in 5 gallon
buckets that were lined with new
13 gallon garbage bags, bring it to
one of our homes, and repack the
foods in gallon baggies that were
inside 2# coffee cans.
Momala, you are an inspiration in more ways than one!

Oh Ripp. Ah, oh, um, is it getting hot in here? He is just so handsome and yes, I love his tender side toward her. He's the only one that truly understands her. And they were each others first love too. I'm a sucker for that. I didn't like Kelly at first but she's grown on me. She's willing to do the dirty work that no one else wants to do. I don't really find Casey attractive. He always looks dirty to me. And I don't really care for his wife. Not sure what it is about her but I just don't like her. I go through phases with Jamie. I'm really liking him right now. I don't like that girl he hooked up with but I'm dying to see how the baby thing is going to turn out.
I may check into Outcry. I need a new series.
