I guess I’ll stay home today. Already watered my outside plants. I have lots to do around the house. Taking DD to work and dropping a neighbor at his work. I have salsa to make. Some of the stuff is from my garden so I’m looking forward to it. It’s supposed to be in the upper 90’s tosay. Summertime!

Looks like we got a little rain last night. Enough to rely on and not have to water.

Picked a pound of green beans last night. I didn't even realize I had any then thought I'd check. Nice surprise!

The boys will be going to school twice a week with on-line learning the remainder of the time while we are still in phase 3. Sports are cancelled, during phase 3 as well. I sure hope this ends after the election. I'm scared as to what they will do if/when Trump is re-elected. Even more scared if he's not. It seems these crazies will stop at nothing to ruin the country.

Mass tonight and dinner out afterwards.

It's funny, my mom was in contact with someone who tested positive, her doctor told her not to worry unless she began having symptoms, didn't even tell her to wear a mask or anything. At least that's what she said.

There is so much conflicting information about what and how on this covid crap. Do you follow CDC, your doctor, another doctor?

Hey y'all. It's hot. There's just enough of a breeze to barely move the leaves on the trees. The grasshoppers sounds like they're frying. Sky is a full, dirty blue, and practically no clouds. A couple tiny ones scattered way out.

Happy Saturday.

I wish all the health agencies would say the same thing. It’s very frustrating.
Super hot here.

Do we really need someone to tell us how to be careful about COVID? I figure it's common sense. You were exposed, limit your contact with others for a couple weeks and let those in the household know. Watch for symptoms. Distance yourself. While the disease might be worse, it's no different than someone in the household having a cold or flu as far as contagiousness.

I agree FNW.

I think we need to harvest some of the zucchini tonight. Have some larger ones. Tomatoes started and so has the watermelon. The cukes doing well. both cilantro plants were cut back but are growing again.

Went to Michaels today, it was great. I needed silk flowers for my antique milk can that sits on the hearth. I need a few more so will back tomorrow. Just being lazy after getting the regular Saturday chores done. Need to cut the thick plastic stems down though.

I just harvested a ton of green beans. I created a teepee out of long fallen branches and the vines are growing on it.

My tomatoes are there, they are still green. I only started cherry & pear tomatoes. My zucchini has flowers but no fruit yet. Same with my cucumbers. I didn't plant the seeds for the zucchini and cucumber until just last month. I cut my cilantro back but I may have done it too late. My beets are great and I will need to harvest more soon before they get too big or become tough. I've been harvesting them as needed. I used the greens of my last harvest in a saute, but now the roots are in the refrigerator so I will want to eat those soon, too. I know they will last awhile, but I don't want to forget about them. I'm still waiting for my pepper plants to bear fruit. They did have a couple flowers on them but they fell off. I suspect it's too hot and they won't produce until later in the season after it starts to cool off.

My weeds are abundant, too. LOL I stopped spraying them (obviously). But I can't see them from the patio or pool area, so I don't really care much. I noticed that in my old compost pile I have a good sized tomato plant coming up, so my guess is it will be a cutting tomato from the kitchen scraps I composted. I also have some tomato plants coming up where I used the compost. And coming up near my lettuce appears to be a beet. Not sure how it ended up 15 feet away from where I planted the others.

NO weeds in the veggie garden! it is amazing to watch it all grow and get ideas for next year as in lessons learned.

I picked a few things. Wish there was a good spot for growing in the summer months. The yard just doesn’t get the right sun/shade combo.

I don't weeds where most of the veggies are growing but in the areas around the veggie beds.  And I planted onions around so there are weeds around those.

I'm jealous of everyone's gardens. Our little garden patch isn't really doing anything. Not yet.

Oh, if you have a lot of root vegetables, dig yourself a root cellar. It doesn't need to be huge, but it can keep root vegetables and canned goods for a long, long time.

It's turned into a beautiful day here. While I was at work this afternoon, the sky opened up and it was like a white out with how much rain poured down. It only lasted about five to ten minutes but WOW! Then it rained "normal" for a little while but now, the sun is out, sky is blue with white wispy clouds and a breeze that is just cool enough after it gets in the shaded apartment. Life is good.

I finally filed for UC benefits. I've lost just over half my hours I had for the last four months. I filed on Friday evening so we'll see if I get it or if Weis fights it. I'm so tired of them screwing with people's hours like this.

I have the next two days off thankfully. I plan to get a lot done around the house. I also need to clean up the Wrangler. I bought a sunrider freedom top for it and hopefully will get some help to get it installed on Wednesday (my other day off). I cannot wait. So much easier than trying to remove and store the two front hardtops.

I wish I could have a garden here. I really miss my garden and all the fresh fruits and veggies I had going. *insert sad face*

I've had the kids all day. Have them all weekend. They did sleep till about 8 though so that was a relief. Taught the baby to give kisses. LOL Probably not best for social distancing but we practically live together so if one has it we all do. He's so funny. And cute. They keep me so busy. I tried to fit a nap in during nap time but it just didn't work. They're eating dinner right now and then it will be bath time and bed time. Man, I've watched that baby grow up. Got him at six weeks and now he's almost two. Watched him start with baby food and now he's onto real food. Yeah, I'm too attached.

I wish I could grow stuff. I envy people who can. I kill everything. I can't even grow a pea. I'm not sure how when peas are so easy to grow they sprout for kindergartners. But I love fresh green beans. They are the best! It's hot here too! 101 today.

Thanks. I just hope I get them and the company doesn't fight it. They've been fighting everyone's. One woman just got hers after four months of waiting.

No church for my church, or my mom's, tomorrow. My church has a couple test positive for covid-19. Mom's church has a number of members with symptoms.

We'll see how this plays out.

I've seen where people store their root veggies in potting soil in a box in the basement.

Super scorcher here in South Texas.
Official temp (at the airport) was 103.
Our thermometer read 104. And we
expect to go to 106 on Monday. The
a/c repair companies are over their
heads with repair requests.

Stay safe, everyone.
