Hope you have a great day,
and a relaxing weekend.
Where are the rest of our
peeps? Up and at 'em - it's
time to get up, and tell the
devil to take a chill pill and
say "oh crap, she's up again
and I'm not ready for her!"
Morning everyone! Was going to have lunch with some friends, but was canceled. Getting nails done and my weekly grocery shopping. Going to tour a cave with my son and family tomorrow, should be fun
Hope everyone has a great day, and a restful, but fun, weekend.
Happy Friday.

I had to sit in my car for 20 minutes while the UV lamp disinfected my "room." Then I get the text to go in, and they check my temperature. It was over 100. They have me sit and drink cold water and wait. Check again. 99.9. They want it at 99. So my dentist comes out to chat. She's wearing what looks like a hazmat suit. My mask is dangling because I'm trying to cool off my temp.
Receptionist is spraying Lysol on everything every time someone walks by. Mailman, UPS guy. One other patient who was checking out. Spraying, wiping. We talk about the heat. She keeps her house at 72. I keep mine at 78. She says, oh, that explains your temp. Dentist agrees. Receptionist lets it slip that she has autoimmune disorders from childhood. That explains her frenzy.
She checks it again and it's 98.7. Good enough. But before I get in chair, I have to rinse my mouth with Listerine. Weird. Dentist tries to keep her face as far from me as possible while working on me. And is trying to work fast. She's wearing an N95 with a cloth mask over that, and a face shield, along with her scrubs, gloves, etc. I tell her I'm supposed to go to work next month. She asks if I'm scared. I say not of the virus, just of figuring out logistics of picking kids up from school and helping them with homeschooling in case of IT issues. She seems a little surprised. Does her bit and we chat a little more and she's done. Says she'll see me next time during flu season. We laugh. I told her there will be a vaccine before then.
Hygienist was next. She's a little more relaxed. We talk about the boys and her grands. She feels like I do. Get them back to school. Don't expose the vulnerables, and move on. She's working fast, too. I'm not sure if they were trying to keep from getting behind or just scared.
It was an interesting experience and definitely from the Twilight Zone.
My experience has been different, actually rather pleasant. I'm using the health department for the time being, I have my temp scanned before going in. My appointment is confirmed with the dentist, I must wear a mask to enter. The chairs are spaced out, some in the hallway outside the door.
My wait has been less than 10 minutes each time. Once in the back, my mask comes off. The dentist and nurses and those working are wearing masks.
During the extraction, my dentist, the assistant, and myself wore safety goggles.

Haven't even thought about going to the dentist. Guess I need to before my insurance runs out. But they're shutting us down again. Drat. LONG day. Kids were good but I had PT. My balance is improving. Not sure if it's the medicine or the PT but maybe both? I stepped on a toy Wednesday and didn't flounder or fall. I felt my core tighten up like we're practicing in PT and I righted myself. So progress. BF should be here any minute. Leaving tomorrow for a weekend away. YES!

Oh, got a crying sobbing phone call last night from DD. Hysterical because she's "not prepared for a baby". DIDN'T tell her you're never really prepared. What she's worried about is STUFF. They have a crib, two swings, dresser, changing table, pack and play, bassinet, and all the clothes and diapers they'll need for a long time. Seriously, full wardrobe from birth to 2T. First grandbaby on both sides so both grandma's have been buying like crazy. AND she's having a shower. I told her babies don't need STUFF and can sleep in a dresser drawer for all they care. Told her she has a swing he can sleep in the swing the first six months like I did to her because that was the ONLY way she didn't cry. Got another hysterical phone call today because the baby is breech. Told her AGAIN to calm down and relax that she has two months left and the baby has plenty of time to turn. Not sure if I can handle much more of this. LOL
