Good morning! Not a bad start to the day here. If it would stay like this the rest of the day it would be perfect but the heat and humidity are on the rise. Gonna be another scorcher today.
I have to work but just five hours mid morning to mid afternoon. Didn't get much accomplished for my couple of days off. Just too hot to do much of anything. I have some vaca time I need to use. Not sure what I want to do with it. It's only 25 hours. I guess a day here and a day there except everything is shutting down again so can't do anything. lol
Could be. My dad used to get gas at a particular station and each time his card was hacked. Found out it was an employee. (Before pay at the pump was a thing).
Got about 3/4 inch of rain last night. The plants are happy.
I am home from vacay and have decided to go back. My grown children are in pissy moods and yelling and fighting. I am trying to ignore them. DD called me sobbing at 11:30 last night because she felt a sharp pain in her side. Her DH said it was the baby kicking (she is seven months now) and to shut up and go back to sleep. Instead she web MD'ed her symptoms and decided both she and the baby are dying so she called me. I told her to stay off Web MD and get used to the pain because she was so far along. She told me I was being unsympathetic. Now DS is screaming and yelling about her calling so late and for a non emergency. He's his own ball of freaking issues. I'm so over them.
OTOH, the Bonnie and Clyde museum was absolutely amazing. So much memorabilia. Bonnie was a tiny little thing. I can see why people wouldn't be scared of her when she approached. I can't believe she killed 15 policemen. They were something. We even went to the roadside where they were shot. You can still walk into the trees where the police hid to ambush them. Pretty fascinating. I had fun. Next trip is labor day weekend to meet his family.

I remember my daughter kicking me nonstop on my side around 7 months, it hurt like crazy. I agree about staying off medical website, I threw away a medical booklet by reader’s digest because every symptom I looked up, one of us was always going to die.
Glad you had fun, Bonnie held a gun to my uncles head while he cut clydes hair.
Hope you feel better soon Trudy and maybe a bottle of corona will help. Safe travels fwm and glad you are having a good time.
Fascinating Lindley! By all accounts Bonnie was a mean woman. She'd just as soon shoot you as look at you. BF is a history buff and loves going to places like that. But I really enjoyed it.

If you haven't seen The Highwaymen with Kevin Costner you should. It's about the Texas Rangers that eventually killed Bonnie and Clyde. In the movie they showed them shooting up the car. The car in the movie is an exact replica of the real car with matching bullet holes. The car from the movie was at the museum. The real car is in AZ now. It was in CA and sold to the museum in AZ for 1.2 million dollars.

It's dark, hot, humid, and thundering all around us.
I saw the Bonnie and Clyde hideout house on a YouTube video. I liked the layout of it. It was cool to see.
I love historic places, too.
I really want to get to Williamsburg and places like that.
Before they are destroyed by those erasing history.

Right now, while the kids are gone, you need a spa day and a girl's night.

Oh, you'll love Gatlinburg. Don't miss the new Anakeesta. I thinks how it's spelled.

DE, is there kayaking in the Smokies? I don't see it on the "things to do" list in the park. Just curious. It was something we had planned for the Catskills. I'm trying to get a handle on what kinds of things would be good for us as a family. They do have horseback riding which we all enjoy.
I love that part of the country. It's been years since I've been to TN, and I never made it into the National Park. We're looking forward to it!
If you like water parks, Dollywoods Splash Country is good fun. DD goes every weekend and says that attendance is way down and that social distancing is not a problem.
And stop at the visitor's center, if it's open, and pick up a guide to the outskirts area. There's antiquing, quilting, crafts, all kinds of things.
I think most of the attractions are open.
Take good walking shoes. That's the best way to get around.
