Got up extra early this morning
to get in line for the food bank
distribution. Yeah, our income is
within the guidelines to qualify,
but we've never signed up before.
Two of our neighbors are in really
bad shape, so I picked up for them
as well, and then gave most of "our"
food to them as well. I was really
pleased that they gave away 2%
milk, chicken quarters (legs),
potatoes, carrots, cilantro, oranges,
sweet potatoes, pasta orange soda,
canned soups and veggies. I kept
1 dozen of the eggs (I'll make deviled
eggs for my honey), and gave the other
2 dozen to our neighbors. I'm really so
grateful to get this gift - it really helps,
not only us, but our neighbors as well.
It was supposed to run from 9-11; I
got in line at 7:45, and was lucky to
be about #150 in line. Shows how
many people are struggling to get by.
I got a clean bill of health from the eye surgeon. But my lymph nodes are not healed yet so I still have some swelling in my eye. And some irritation in my nose. He prescribed an antibiotic ointment for my nose. Told him he did an excellent job and he said it wasn't him. He said the place he picked heals really well with little scarring. Still think he did a great job.
The parents here have voted to defy the governers order and go back to school on time. I will be losing the five year old soon. Her dad said he doesn't know how this is going to work because every cough or sniffle or sore throat or fever is going to put the whole class on quarantine for two weeks. I think school is going to be a sh!t show.
