The gardeners are here. I'm debating when I should color my hair this week. It's not really noticeable yet, but I don't want to wait until it is. Decisions, decisions. LOL
We're taking Friday off to do something fun with the boys since school starts Monday. We're thinking indoors, since it's so hot out. Movie theaters are opening so maybe we'll go there. A lot of classics are being shown. Rocky?
We're hunkering down in prep for Hurricane Laura. Winds are expected to be 75+, so all the heavy (metal) chairs are lashed to the railings so they won't go sailing off into the neighbors. DH's son in LA has already left with his pets to go to friends around Austin. He could stay here, but he's afraid his dogs would attack our outside cats, so he crashes with friends. Hopefully he'll come to visit with us on his way back home.
Oops - it's Marco, no Laura. She comes later this week.

Y'all better stay safe! I'm glad your son is getting out of LA for now.
It's a gorgeous day here. Exceptionally low humidity, pretty breezy at times, not much sunshine but it peeks out occasionally and not hot. Just a stellar day. Work was quick. I asked them to reduce my hours from now through Sept due to my rent renewal and not wanting an increase in rent. That happens and then I lose hours later on in the year and I'm stuck paying the higher rent. UGH! Initially work fought me on it because we're short-handed but it was that or I take a leave of absence so they agreed. I'm going to enjoy working ten to twelve hours a week less, although my paycheck won't. lol Hopefully, when the rent is set, I can get my hours back. We shall see.
Just settling in and wondering what to make for dinner. A sandwich or some baked haddock. Hmmmmmm

We went to the movies last night. We saw Jurassic park. i bought my tickets online, when I chose our seats the two seats next to us were blocked out. The snack bar had signs up to say no cash accepted. All the doors to each screen room were left open as well as the doors leading to the restrooms. Hand sanitizer and wipe stands were plentiful. We were required to keep masks on unless eating or drinking. I think it went very well. Only 7 people were watching including us.

We're in good shape here. We are
on the top of a 20' hill, so no water
worries. The only problem could be
strong winds, but we've gotten all
the outdoor furniture lashed down
or put in the barn. I've got all
sorts of candles & matches all over
the house, so if we do lose power,
a candle & matches are all within
a hand's reach. Lots of ice in the
freezer, and plenty of water in the
tubs (for flushing), so we can go
several days. Gas for the stove is
plentiful (propane) so I can cook if
needs be. I'm cooking a large pork
butt today in addition to dinner, so
we have plenty to last us for several
days. I've contacted our elderly
neighbors, and they have enough
for several days, including all their
meds. The roads I take to my daily
radiation treatments are all in good
shape - no worries about flooding.
Yes, Momala, stay safe. You seem to be a professional planner. LOL The problem is that nature sometimes plays bad tricks on us. Let us know when the storm passes.
Fort Worth Mom - Yes, amazing how time passes and we do even notice it until some mile stone comes up - like your purchase 25 years ago of your house.
