Setting the boys up in the dining room for their first day of school. It's really just virtual Mass and a meet and greet with their new teachers, and in person starts Wednesday. Making crackers with sourdough starter discard as a treat.
I need to run to the store and get cards for DH. He turns 60 on Thursday. I want a haircut, but will wait another month or two. I like to be able to put it up when I swim in the pool so I'll wait until the pool closes.
I have resumed healthier eating and working out. I want to lose the 4 pounds I gained at Disney 2 years ago plus lose a little extra for the fall trip to Disney. Sadly, I’ve never met a carb that I didn’t like. I just need to remember moderation in all things, including carbs.
Good morning! What a chilly start to the day here. Brrrrr I awoke around 4 with a bit of a shiver. Had to get out of bed and shut the patio door and put the comforter back on the bed. Fall is rapidly approaching. Love these days where the nights and mornings a cool but the day warms up.
Not much on my agenda for the day. I need to go rock hunting to finish this dang border before the bulbs arrive in a couple of weeks. I need to spray the area again since there are some weeds forcing their way through all the mulch. Other than that, I'm taking it easy on the last of my three days off work.
The boys had their first half day of virtual school today. (Mondays will be virtual and half day through December). Their basketball coach, whose son is their friend, apparently split with his wife of many years. Very sad. I blame quarantine.
Yes, it does. And it came as a shock to us, but explains the boy not being on-line when they went to virtual in the Spring. It was like he was kicked to the curb and DH contacted his father to let him know he has been a no show at school for a few weeks. The coach took a week or so to respond but eventually got his son set up on-line for school.
Don't remember if I told you all but I need a new roof. Shingles and other supplies delivered today. Wednesday is the install. Apparently roofing shingle manufacturing was hit hard and no specialty colors are in stock except the one I chose. It has a subtle hint of red in it to play off my brick.
My ex BIL was found dead a few days ago. He was living in Las Vegas. Apparently his AC was out. His sisters found him. The cat passed too. My niece is devastated. She hasn’t had the greatest relationship with him in the past but things were getting better since she had children.
Well, I survived the the two days at the nursing job. Could really use some advice here. Since covid they started taking the patients vital signs every four hours. The CNA's are supposed to take them and give them to the nurse to put in the computer. Apparently the CNA's don't like taking them so the nurses just don't bother. Instead they forge the vital signs on the chart. Three different nurses told me this. I don't want to be the pot stirrer right off the bat but I don't feel right forging vital signs. Should I say something to my boss? Like, hey, I just want to clarify if the CNA's or nurses are supposed to be taking the vital signs and how often? How do I approach this?
I picked up another little boy today. I now have a 21 month and 23 month regular and a 25 month drop in on Wednesday and Thursday. All boys. I also interviewed with a woman with a two month old little girl that's looking for daycare three days a week. I think I can work two nights a week nursing and do the daycare and pay all the bills.
Vacay is THURSDAY! Got my hair cut, currently working on the root touch up, and tomorrow have a nail appointment. I have therapy Tuesday and Thursday and have to take my car to the shop tomorrow because the check engine light is on. Good thing it's still under warranty. Still gotta find time to make two batches of blueberry muffins and two batches of cinnamon rolls. Taking SS out to dinner on Wednesday. So much to do!

Oh my goodness, SB. I'm sorry for your loss. How terrible.
