Good morning, my pretties!

Another beautiful Fall day in North Texas. Sunny, and heading for a high of 75. I'll take it!smile

Cate is coming down to play. Maybe we'll putter in the garden for a bit.

Not much else is happening here.

How about with you?

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

Working away. Not much else going on. Cold and windy here.

Need to bring a neighbor's kid to the school in a bit.

Happy Wednesday!

Colored my hair and work. That's about it. Windy and cold here.

Went to the grocery store after work and there was a line waiting for shopping carts. I only grabbed a few things so I didn’t need one. I really didn’t spend any time looking around so I didn’t notice any shortages. It’s a pretty busy store anyways. Maybe people are just coming into town for the holiday next week.

I rarely use a cart since I have no heavy stuff to get and I only get a few items due to DS doing a lot of the food shopping.  I bring my reusable bags in (yes those are allowable) and put my items in those.  I always pick up tissues or TP or such JIC.  But we are ready for supplies to be short.  We have always had Lysol wipes and other disinfectants anyway.   We will survive.

DH ran out this morning and picked up some stuffing for me. He said there were plenty of turkeys still. I'll get one Friday.

I had to "repurchase" tickets to the gardens for the annual "walk of lights" that we like to go to after dinner on Thanksgiving. They have always been timed but now with restrictions tightening up they have to cut back on the number and refunded everyone who had purchased tickets previously. Fortunately I was still able to get my preferred time slot. My guess is people are backing out of going with the numbers rising. Masks are required even though we'll be outdoors so I'll wear mine around my neck unless I someone gets too close. That's what I do now, even indoors. So far no one has said anything to me about it.

You might want to look into
getting a "face shield" -super
comfortable, and people can
see what you are saying. I
got our at my favorite nail
salon - $7. I have a feeling
this is going to be our "norm"
for quite a while.

I've been wearing a shield for months now at the request of my doctor. He said the masks were not good for us so the store provided those who want them the shields. Well, now customers are complaining that because the shields are basically open more than three sides (right, left, bottom and a little on top) that they're not protecting anyone. Yesterday, I was told I cannot wear the shield any more and have to wear a mask. I explained that I have a doctor's note not to but I'm willing to do it if I can pull it off my face when no one is near me. They agreed but we'll see how long that lasts.

Our face shields have a thick
foam strip across the top, and
go all the way around to just
in front of the ears, so they
really do work like a mask.

They are so much more
comfortable than the cloth
masks, and my glasses don't
fog up.

There are a couple of people at our church who wear the shields during mass. I told my boys I wanted one and they had a fit, saying I would embarrass them. They're at that age. LOL

Personally, I don't think either do a darned thing. It's like trying to keep a mosquito out with a chained link fence. It's about control and submission.
