Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽🍁! I’m currently sitting on my back porch eating Cheerios out of a measuring cup. It’s supposed to be 80 today. Relaxing most the day. I just have a few simple chores. DD is supposed to work till 4. Then we will grill some meat. I will have a small piece. Haven’t had any of n a week.
Bird went in the oven at 9:16 am, dressing is made, green beans are made, table is set. I put the last leaf in the table to allow more room and I can add more to the place setting (bread plates, coffee cups, etc.) My parents are coming over around 2 PM, right when the fun of getting it all done at the same time starts...
It rained last night but the sun is shining now! Hopefully it will stay clear for our annual stroll through the Christmas lit gardens.

My cinnamon swirls are made and I've had quite a few already. The pumpkin pie is done and chilling. Potatoes are frying with onions for the filling. Turkey thighs are in the oven. The house is awash of smells that I'm lovin'. Dinner should be ready in about an hour or so. YUM!
The sun poked out for about two hours but has disappeared behind some serious cloud cover. They said there would be no more rain today but I think they lied! It sure looks and feels like it's going to any minute. The wind has also picked up as well.
The young couple below me had a huge fight with lots of screaming and yelling and slamming things, hopefully not each other, but it lasted almost three hours. She left the house and he's home. Not sure if she took their three-week old baby with her or not. So much for a quiet turkey day.
I hate when couples fight. Especially in front of the children.
We had an uneventful day. The way I like them. Food was very good, if I don't say so myself, and the company was wonderful. Another day to be grateful as it's a gift from God.
It's been a wonderful day. Zoom meeting with all the siblings households and Dad. DS fried the turkey, did a fantastic job. The sides were wonderful. Served everything on my China which is nice to be able to use. We got a call for DS's "stepfather" that he was coming over. This was when dinner was winding down. 'Stepfather" was an older long time BF of mine that DS considers his step. SF's daughter and BF also came up. We had dessert and coffee in front of the fire. Such a nice day. Love the peeps in my life.
Thankful for all you peeps too in my life.

We had a lovely day as well. The food was really good if I don't say so myself! We had a nice stroll through the gardens afterwards and saw the beautiful lights. It just gets better every year.
Thankful for all you peeps as well. God bless everyone!
It was a nice relaxing day here. I got in a long nap. I really need to do my nails so I think that's what I'll do next. I've enjoyed the low key and no work. Two jobs makes you appreciate time to yourself. I spent about five hours at DD's house. DD and DS argued the whole time. I held the grand baby and we read some books. Papa was there and we traded off holding the baby. He's such a nice guy. The BF met him the other day and they both talked about motorcycles for a long time. He decided he'd found a friend down here. I sent the other grandma pictures of the baby as she's not allowed to see him. She was grateful. DD and SIL know I send pictures. They're okay with it. Food was great. Now off to do my nails and shower. I'm grateful for all the people in my life. But especially grandson.

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 we had daughter and family, son and family, my husbands brother and sister in law and her granddaughter. The kids had a blast, grandpa took all the grandkids a ride on his tractor, helped him put up Christmas lights, I made turkey, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie.
The rest of my day was pretty quiet for the most part. The young man below suffers with tourettes (sp?) and did some banging around down there throughout the day. Not sure what time she eventually came home. I went to bed around 10:15 (since they had me up at 4:30a.m.) and she wasn't home then. But her car is there now.
Dinner was so so. My filling didn't get as good as it usually does. I think I added too many eggs this time. lol But, the turkey was great.
My stuffing/dressing was a little
bit "off" this time. Probably
because the egg I added was a
double-yolker!
I stuffed the Cornish Game Hens
with about two tablespoons of
stuffing, trussed them, and then
cooked the remainder as a side
of dressing. The best of both
worlds.
we actually had thanksgiving today--just the two of us, the way we like it, the way we began--to be able to look up and look into the eyes of the person you love more than anything on this earth is a gift indeed--regardless what happens, we are together and she is happy and that is all that matters to me--everything else is a distant second
peace
