Already had a busy morning. Exhausted. Dreary day out today. Is everyone ready for Christmas? I have a gift certificate I need to get from a local shop and I’m done. We are having baked ziti for Christmas dinner. I have everything except something for an appetizer and desert.
What are you guys cooking?
I'm not. Thursday night we're going to the Capital Grille for dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday. Christmas we'll go to my parents' house for dinner and presents. There is a 60% chance of snow which would be nice, provided the roads are safe.
There is a gift or two I'm still waiting for. It's something #2 picked out to give #1. I hope it arrives this week. If not, I'll wrap up a picture of it.
Yesterday we baked and decorated sugar cookies and I divided up the fudge for the neighbors. I'll send the boys out later to distribute. Aside from that trip to the ABC store I need to make this week, I'm pretty much done and can now relax and enjoy what's left of the holidays. We had a nice brunch yesterday at the club and had the whole room to ourselves. There were two seatings. We chose the early one and there was supposed to be another party of 4 but they switched to the later seating so it was just the 6 of us. It was nice.
Good afternoon! Just got home from Church, a lady friend from Church and I prepared a meal/ pot luck for after children’s Christmas program, will go shopping to finish up gifts and hopefully dinner with husband, his idea would be Panera bread, mine a favorite Italian restaurant, will see who wins. Sounds like you guys are pretty prepared for Christmas.
Oh my goodness! Our home smells
WONDERFUL! DH's niece came over
with a 12-pack of beer, a chocolate
mousse cake, and a HUGE bouquet
of flowers. It's a combination of
stargazer lilies, carnations, eucalyptus,
and babies breath. The fragrance is
all through the house. She and DH
demolished the 12-pack, and I had
some wine. She also brought over
a large container of sliced ham. It
was from a gift that her husband
received, and it was way too big
for them, so they shared it.
They just moved into a new house
(50 years old) that they are working
on, and in one of our previous
conversations, she mentioned that
there was only one smoke detector,
in an inappropriate spot. I bought
them six Kidde smoke detectors, that
come with their own batteries, so they
can have one in each of the bedrooms
and LR, DR, and den. I even attached
a small stocking for Penny, their very
well behaved doggie.
Today I'm working on Amaretto and
Irish Whiskey Cream. My only problem
is that I haven't been able to find any
pretty bottles to package it in.
IRISH WHISKEY CREAM – Donna’s original

Whisk all ingreds together. Transfer to 1

about raw eggs, use Egg Beaters.
