I have a meeting later. Other than that, just responding to email and getting a little admin stuff done. I still need to get to the liquor store. Maybe later or tomorrow. I need to get some bread started tonight, too.
Unfortunately, I probably won't get to see the Christmas star. It's super cloudy here and with all the trees around, I don't think I'd get to see it anyway.
Well, I decided to only do half the decorating that I normally do. At least the tree is out and done. lol I just have too much else to do and work along with that every day this week. So, I had to compromise. I've been making my fudge and pizzelles to pass around the neighborhood as gifts to some. I need to make too many and should've started them last week. DGD wants some special flavors so that'll take some time. From start (mixing by hand) to finish (all done besides clean up) it's a good two and a half hours per batch. UGH. But, Christmas time is the only time I make them so I guess it's worth it.
It's dang damp and chilly here today. Supposed to rain / snow showers tonight. After the last 14" we just got, one of the neighbors shoveled out his wife's (both in their late 50s early 60s) car and the next day, the other neighbors (below me in their early 20s) promptly took their spot because they were too lazy to get out and shovel themselves out of their own spot. The plow does the main thru-way of the parking lot but not along side of all our cars. That's our responsibility. Needless to say, we were all pissed. I wrote them a note and told them it was really uncool to do what they did and next time to shovel their own spot. They seem like very entitled kids.
Good almost evening! Clear here, so hopefully I could see the star ⭐️ fudge sounds good right now, hopefully I will finish wrapping presents soon and finish up grocery shopping. Hope you all get to see the Christmas star
LOL, FWM! I would love to. I have a feeling the next time we get a big snow and they don't come out, all of us who do will be piling the snow all around their vehicle! This apartment complex, while marketed as a "family" place, is basically 95% seniors. All of us were out shoveling and cleaning off cars; helping each other. And, these lazy youngin's sat in there and did nothing! UGH!
The man who shoveled his wife's car out and spot they took ultimately went to the maintenance guy the next day and asked him to use the tractor to plow out the spot those two refused to do so he could park his wife's car there.
I remember a few years ago when I lived at another complex I also managed, we had a hell of a storm. If I remember, it dumped more than two feet. Well, there was an older woman there in her early 80s. Very spry, very active but . . . There were also some young people in that complex and those who parked on either side of this woman, cleaned off their cars and then proceeded to shovel all the snow onto and around hers! OMG! I was livid. I went to those youngin's and demanded they go shovel her out and clean off her car and keep going to help others as well. They did but boy was I pissed when I'd seen what they'd done.
